I'll be blunt.
Herman Cain, Tim Pawlenty and Rick Santorum are the only real contenders on stage tonight. The waterboarding question sealed the deal ("Would you approve of enhanced interrogation techniques under certain circumstances you could imagine?").
Only Gov. Johnson and Ru Paul failed to answer in the affirmative.
We need Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin on stage.
We need Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin kicking ass and taking names.
Jon Huntsman? Ron Paul? Newt Gingrich? Sorry, guys, but give me a freaking break.
At least we have Herman Cain. If Sarah announced her presidency run I'd back her in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteHerman will do though.
Well, I agree mostly, except for the Palin and Bachmann concept.
ReplyDeleteBoth a fine American Women, but the two are not the best offering.
They will add to the debates for certain, but Mrs. Palin is an ambitious facade - the former Maverick pick who raised taxes on Oil Companies - created Climate Panel Bureaucracy, etc. But worst of all, she plays the fashionable obvious stereotype of a "conservative" and it is a transparent con. She should have been herself long ago. Her abandoning the Governorship also sealed her credibility. The Celebrity was simply predictably hallow.
Mrs. Bachmann needs experience, some sincere CEO background. Like Santorum, Palin, Gingrich etc., her ambition is clouding judgment.
Pawlenty did well tonight, Mr. Cain was a pleasant addition.
It will get better, but some better get ready to have to accept someone who is not the 'ideal' in fashionable circles. It is a proven CEO which is essential. Cannot commit political suicide with self destructive DELAWARE DISASTERS. Competence and soundness must be a priority.
I am with Chaz. Herman Cain rocks. I am not sure that he should be the presidential GOP choice. He would be great as veep choice.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with Old Fan: "Her abandoning the Governorship also sealed her credibility." No one person has had to defend themselves against the media onslaught that Sarah Palin has. That decision was bad politically for her but the right thing for the state of Alaska. The trumped up charges that the lamestream media had brought against her would have dragged the state down. She didn't have the financial firepower to defend herself. She dropped out and raised some funds by selling a great book and successfully showed to charges to be bunk. She did what she needed to do both for herself and for the state of Alaska.
Palin, Bachman and Santorum are non starters. Palin is a lightening rod. Bachman too emotional, and Santorum's only issue is social conservatism in a time where fiscal responsibility is the issue.
ReplyDeleteOut of the bunch last night, Cain and Pawlenty were the only two with the Presidential spurs.
Herman Cain, he'll tell you what he'd do in Afghanistan in 30 minutes or less or your next pizza is free.
