A PUBLIC SERVICE ADVISORY MESSAGE: From Mayor Bloomberg

This:

And speaking of the pint-sized, would-be dictator with a Napoleonic Complex, please consider:

Bloomberg: Restrict Painkillers in Hospitals

Some of the most common and most powerful prescription painkillers on the market will be restricted sharply in the emergency rooms at New York City’s 11 public hospitals, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said Thursday in an effort to crack down on what he called a citywide and national epidemic of prescription drug abuse.

Under the new city policy, most public hospital patients will no longer be able to get more than three days’ worth of narcotic painkillers like Vicodin and Percocet. Long-acting painkillers, including OxyContin, a familiar remedy for chronic backache and arthritis, as well as Fentanyl patches and methadone, will not be dispensed at all. And lost, stolen or destroyed prescriptions will not be refilled.

Yes, Mayor Bloomberg is one of the smartest men on the planet: he knows better than medical professionals how painkillers should be dispensed. He knows better than you how much salt you should consume. He even knows how large a soda you should drink

And, it goes without saying that he knows you should not be permitted to defend your family or yourself with a firearm.

Bloomberg is precisely the type of power-mad authoritarian that our Founders despised.

    Bloomberg to English Translation...

When you get shot, while not being able to defend yourself because you are law-abiding, yet I think you shouldn't have a gun, you can forget about receiving any relief from the constant, intense, throbbing pain, even though you're not a drug addict because I think you shouldn't have pills.

And suck it up NYC, because I know what's best.

  2. To paraphrase a classic Monty Python skit:

"I've just been reading a great big sign about how to put a gunman down, and apparently you can either hit them with the sign..."

    Thanks for reading!
