A longtime Chicago lawmaker Tuesday called on Gov. Pat Quinn to send the Illinois State Police and the Illinois National Guard into Chicago to help quell gun violence.
Rep. Monique Davis, a South Side Democrat serving in her 13th term in the House, said she wanted troopers and National Guardsmen “to come to Chicago and work with our mayor, Rahm Emanuel, to provide safety for the children, especially, and for all who walk in Chicago. We deserve. We’re important. Our kids are important.”
She also asked that Quinn appoint a task force to “guide the behavior of the National Guard. We don’t want them to have us fearing them also. We want them there for safety and protection.”
But only two other Democrats accompanying Davis at a Springfield news conference agreed...

Unless the National Guard has a "shoot to kill" order concerning armed thugs and other assorted Sh!tcago thug-life, what good will they be? Will they simply take names and report them?

I presume, as a 13-term representative in the Illinois House, you are already aware of this article. Hartford's gang violence is down, but Hartford and the State of CT continue to slide into poverty at the hands of a Democrat Legislature and Labor Unions as both businesses and suburban youth flee to states with less onerous taxes and regulations.

So the presence of law-abiding citizens with firearms will make the city safer? She should be careful, or she'll be run out of the Democrat party for speaking that way.
