My mistake.
I meant Democrat politicians and power-brokers who resort to the most disgusting rhetoric imaginable.
• White House Senior Adviser Dan Pfeiffer likened Republicans to suicide-bombers, saying the White House would not be "negotiating with people with a bomb strapped to their chest."
• Pfeiffer also said that the House, in exercising its Constitutional duty known as "the power of the purse", was acting like a pack of arsonists threatening to "burn it [the nation] down."
• President Barack Obama accused the GOP of political "blackmail", implying that they are kidnappers holding the nation hostage.
• White House spokesman Jay Carney went a step further, call the tactics "extortion, tanking the economy and crushing the middle class."
• Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) called Republicans "anarchists" who want to bring down government.
• Finally, Barbara "Jabba the" Mikulski (D-MD) employed vile, homophobic rhetoric to tar Americans opposed to Obamacare as "Tea Baggers in [Cruz's] Tea Party."
"...at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized -– at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who happen to think differently than we do -– it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we’re talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds..."
--President Barack Obama, January 12, 2011, speaking in Tucson after the shooting that critically injured Rep. Gabbi Giffords
Gabbi Giffords, of course, immediately spoke out against this sort of extreme, divisive rhetoric.
Oh, wait: no, she didn't.
Hat tip: BadBlue News Service.
I see what you did there.
ReplyDeleteOf course, that won't make a dent in the brains of Oppressives, since anything other than insults and propaganda tends to fly right over their empty heads.
Dude - what's the car on your profile? That's wicked.
ReplyDeleteAd homonym attacks are the water closets of evil men as they strain to smear those they hate with the excrement of lies and the urine of perversion. They seek the refuge of illegitimate authority by staining their opponents and hiding the truth while saying "nobody sees us, we can do as we please".
ReplyDeleteAccountability is their boogeyman, Liberty is their enemy, bending the rules is their way of life, NO is all they understand.
The filter you've been using on your images lately is really creeping me out. Well done.
ReplyDeleteBut I do miss the old filter. Maybe it needed tweaking with the contrast or something.
@K-Bob -
ReplyDeleteI switched from an old version of Paintshop to GIMP. Haven't figured out how to get some of the same effects I used to get from GIMP, but thanks for noticing.
