HILLARY VS. BARACK: Someone's Lyin', Sarah Palin Edition

As Hillary positions herself for another run in 2016, she faces a daunting task. She must distance herself from the very same failed administration in which she played a leading role. Evidence for this new wedge between the Clinton and Obama camps is flying fast and furious (NPI), as evidenced both by her book and Edward Klein's new tell-all, Blood Feud.

To wit, Hillary wrote that the Obama team asked her to attack Sarah Palin in 2008:

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reveals in her new book that Barack Obama’s team asked her to attack Alaska Governor Sarah Palin after Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) chose her as his running mate in the 2008 presidential race.

"[The Obama camp] immediately issued a dismissive statement and reached out to me in hopes I would follow suit,” she wrote. “But I wouldn’t... I was not going to attack Palin just for being a woman appealing for support from other women,” she wrote. “I didn't think it made political sense, and it didn't feel right. So I said no."

Strangely enough, Obama’s team is pushing back:

...Barack Obama's 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe denied former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's claim in her 635-page, critically panned memoir "Hard Choices" that the Obama campaign requested Hillary attack then-Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin because she was a woman.

"We never tried to do that," Plouffe asserted "We did want her to go out there and speak, but not about Sarah Palin's gender..." Plouffe's statement is in direct contrast to what Clinton wrote in the opening pages of "Hard Choices."

Who's lying? Knowing this bunch of buffoonish crooks, I'd wager both.

I don't see anything in Hillary's statement that implied that Obama's team had asked her to attack "Palin's gender".

In other words, he's raised another straw man. Or woman. As the case may be. The usual divertive answer.

Nope, not about her gender, just about her red neck, hillbilly family and stuff like that!

I don't think you understood the other comments, Jerrod. And there's nothing demeaning to Doug in pointing out the discrepancies between the two liars' camps' stories. I hope the accusations keep flying, and revealing what dishonorable people they all are.
