Yes, some of these are center-right, libertarian, or more middle-of-the-road sites, but if they are included here it is because they do publish center-right opinion pieces on a regular basis.

five thirty eight? Really?
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard of some of these, but I'm OK with center, center-right, center-left, as long as they are not progressive left.
ReplyDeleteSurprised to see so many anti-Trump blogs listed.

I agree with Anonymous. I've had to totally review ALL my previous "Conservative" links. Their views on trump, and their preference for Hillary over Trump, were a real eye opener. My list is a LOT shorter now.
Daniel Pipes was a neverTrumper. He claimed Trump was a fascist. He posted about it several times, not once with any evidence other than hearsay and a few stupid pictures - pure ad hominem. I parted company with him over that, and will not ever go back.
ReplyDeleteYou're confusing alt right and Conservative
ReplyDelete#3 #8 #12 #22 as examples
Also, 'Anti-Trump' isn't a disqualification to be Conservative
Where is our host? Am I reading impaired? (as I skim through a long list of no, maybe, that's bs)
ReplyDeleteReal Clear Politics might post occasional conservative articles but it is dominated by leftist NY articles from NYT, Politico, New yorker magazine, 1/3 of it is ok the rest is drivel
ReplyDelete'Anti-Trump' isn't a disqualification to be Conservative", yes it is, it giving fuel to left.
ReplyDeleteThat 'The Hill' #13 was in the top 100, let alone the top 15 makes the entire list suspect.
ReplyDeleteThe #YesTrump/#NoNeverTrump divide is intriguing. I know several 'Rightists' who will never ever support Trump or his approach. They consider themselves the keepers of the flame until "real" conservatism returns. The odd thing is that they use decidedly un-conservative language to explain their opposition and employ feeling rather than fact to support same.
ReplyDeleteIOW, the conservatism we knew is fractured and fissured. The way we've learned to sort the sheep from the goats is to use the standards of the father of modern conservatism, Russell Kirk. Since his death, his wife carries on his work, here:
http://kirkcenter.org/
On that site you'll find his outline of the ten principles of conservatism. They haven't changed and remain the litmus test for any soi-disant "conservative". Here's the conservapedia summary of his work:
http://www.conservapedia.com/Russell_Kirk
(NB: his founding of National Review is noted here. How far they have wandered from his original genius is unutterably sad to watch. Unlike many of the sites mentioned here they have squandered their $25.million subsidy, without which they'd have long folded.
[The first overt indication of their fall was the on-going and vicious thrashing of Diana West's deeply sourced account of American Communism's takeover of our government during the FDR era. That gang-up also included several other prominent soi-disant "conservative" websites, all of whom refused to allow her to rebut accusations against her writing.

It's worth visiting that site just to read the customer reviews. The one-star reviews show few if any actual purchases of the book. They're smears; some admit having not read the book at all.
There were so many deliberate falsifications she was forced to publish a rebuttal.

Through it all she had the support of her mentor, a conservative historian of great integrity, M. Stanton Evans.
When they and their followers began the same slimy, unprincipled opposition to Trump (the name-calling is over-the-top ugly; obviously they caught the Progressive virus), it became obvious that 21st Conservatism had become "Conservatism". The inevitable rot that accompanies a too-close association with the powerful is painful to watch. See Don Surber's well-organized take-down of the current neocons, titled Trump the Press:

It was written in July, long before we could have guessed the amazing Trump victory. But his point was to highlight how unscrupulous such nay-sayers have become.
Trump's no conservative. But then again, among the moral midgets who make up current Conservatism, there is no one that could stand in his place to protect what remains of our liberty.
I made the list!
ReplyDeleteWhat do I win?
j/k thanks for listing me Doug!
A few of those I scratch my head but overall, job well down right-wingers!
ReplyDeleteConservative Depot. A great independent blog.
