    About the Consequences of Fatherlessnesws.

One consideration was ignored. The Children of Fathers who abandoned their families or who are in prison, carry the genetic burden of their "defective" fathers. It is no surprise that the children of "screw ups" also have problems in later life. The Mother, schools and the Authorities can only do so much with that kind of matereial. During late WWII, the government was concerned about the futures of the children of soldiers killed in combat. [Sorry, no link] They discovered that the children of the war dead did OK. They attributed much of that to the efforts of the mother and family. They did not consider the possibility that children of "effective" soldiers would inherit some of the characteristics of their fathers and thus be capable of building a successful life for themselves. Guidance from the mother and family were helpful but not essential to the child's ultimate success.
