One reason - child porn never stopped a crime or saved anyone’s life. Guns in the right hands can and do.

Leftists will say that few of the mass shootings were stopped by good guys with guns. There are at least 2 problems with that argument for gun confiscation.
A. It’s against the law for a good guy with a gun to be on the scene, so, since he obeys the law, he won’t be there.
B. As pointed out in the fee(dot)org article, there are thousands more situations than those involving mass shooters, in which a crime is either prevented or stopped by a good guy with a gun. If all you are allowed to focus on is where the good guy can’t be, then of course it will appear that his presence is not effective.
