The Democrat Plot to Stop Trump’s Supreme Court Pick

Justice Anthony Kennedy’s announcement Wednesday of his retirement from the Supreme Court has sent the left into a tizzy.  Although Justice Kennedy has often sided with the more conservative-leaning Justices in 5-4 decisions, he has also joined the four liberal-leaning Justices as the swing vote on several contentious cases important to the left involving such issues as abortion rights and same-sex marriage. With Justice Kennedy’s retirement, which will take effect at the end of July, the door is open for President Trump to nominate a more reliable conservative replacement in the mold of his first pick, Justice Neil Gorsuch.  "We have to pick a great one. We have to pick one that's going to be there for 40 years, 45 years," President Trump told supporters at a campaign rally Wednesday night in North Dakota.

Rod Rosenstein's Telling House Testimony

Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Chris Wray testified yesterday before the House Judiciary Committee. It proved interesting. Very interesting. And informative.

At the start, Representatives Sheila Jackson Lee and Jerrold Nadler repeatedly questioned the validity of the hearing. Following the break, Points of Order were loudly raised (particularly by Ted Lieu) as Strzok testimony was raised in questioning by Rep. Ratcliffe.

Democrats appeared unusually nervous and remained contentious throughout the hearing. Almost as if they were worried over what Rosenstein might have to say…

FBI Director Wray’s statement, which proved less interesting, can be found here.

I’m awaiting a transcript as there appeared to be many subtleties and nuances throughout the hearing.

There are many opinions regarding Rosenstein. I have gone back and forth myself.

Who truly is responsible for the 2,000 alien kids who, according to the Associated Press, recently have been separated from their detained illegal alien parents?

There is a lot of blame to share. That includes President Bill Clinton and the alien parents themselves, as well as the courts and immigration policies foolishly created by the Obama administration. The perverse incentives in those policies have endangered the lives and safety of children and helped fund the deadly Mexican drug cartels that run the trafficking networks on our southern border.

You would not know that based on the absurdly biased coverage and virulent protests that have occurred. The Trump administration is simply doing what it is constitutionally charged with doing—enforcing the law.

The Real Reason Democrats Won’t Press Charges Against their Thieving Pakistani IT Staffers

Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Caller News Foundation, Chris Bedford, shed light on a hacking scandal Wednesday surrounding Democratic Rep. Yvette Clarke and her possible ties to Pakistan.

“These allegations bring a new kind of allegation to the whole Awan case. So far we’ve really been dealing with hacking and unauthorized access to networks, possibly ferreting information back to Pakistan,” Bedford said on Fox Business’ “Mornings With Maria.” “Now we actually have people who are implicating a chief of staff for a congresswoman, Yvette Clarke. Chief of staff Shelley Davis.”

Bedford said Davis was implicated by Clarke’s deputy chief of staff Wendy Anderson, who suspected Davis was working with Abid Awan to steal equipment and information from Congress.

Horowitz, the Justice Department’s inspector general, testified for more than 10 hours on Capitol Hill, taking questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday and from a joint congressional committee on Tuesday.

Since the June 14 release of his 568-page report on the department’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation, Horowitz has been criticized for concluding that the agency’s decision to forego charges against Clinton was unrelated to the political views of those in charge.

The Department of Justice Inspector General’s Report released last week didn’t tell us anything we didn’t know, but merely added more damning evidence for the corruption of the FBI and its investigations over the last few years. More worthy of comment, as Andy McCarthy writes, is its refusal to use common sense and note the obvious interconnections among the various bad actors, and the bond of political bias, seasoned with careerism and arrogance, that united them.
