#WuhanVirus News Roundup 04.07.20: All the News That Fits, We Print

Yet Another "Dossier"

POTUS ripped the HHS inspector general over a report that asserted hospitals were suffering from shortages of equipment and testing kits to combat the Wuhan Virus. The president asked why the I.G., who served for 8 years under Obama and its various H1N1 and Swine Flu debacles, did not "want to talk to the Admirals, Generals, V.P. & others in charge, before doing her report. Another Fake Dossier!"

Brett Samuels at The Hill buries this little nugget in the final paragraph:

Brett Giroir, an assistant secretary of Health and Human Services, noted that the report's survey of hospitals was conducted March 23-27, and he questioned why the inspector general did not come to him with concerns before issuing the report.
Just a guess: because orange man bad.

Underlying Conditions

USA Today reports that men comprised 61% of all Coronavirus fatalities and a startling 86 percent had an underlying illness, primarily high blood pressure (hypertension) and diabetes. Nearly two-thirds (63%) of the deaths were of those 70 and over. Only 7% were under 50 years of age.

How Much Is China Paying Our Broke-Ass Media?

NBC, like ABC and the rest of the anti-OrangeMan media, now appear to be paid propagandists for China (via Hot Air). Here's NBC, dutifully reciting Chicom propaganda:
At the start of what is expected to be the deadliest week of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, the White House tried to offer some hope that measures to contain the spread were working.

The virus killed 1,264 over 24 hours in the U.S. as of 2:05 am ET on Tuesday, according to NBC New’s tracker. A total of 10,906 have been recorded killed by COVID-19.

Meanwhile in China, where the pandemic broke out, not a single new death was reported, and the city of Wuhan in Hubei province, where the new virus was first identified, prepared for lockdown measures to be lifted.
If only we had real journalists who could investigate the ties between China and our media conglomerates.

CNN: Wearing a Mask in Public is Racist

CNN continues its half-assed effort to supplant The Babylon Bee and The Onion as the world's leading purveyor of satire.
[CNN's] Fernando Alfonso III then references how on social media “a number of people of color — activists, academics and ordinary Americans — expressed fears that homemade masks could exacerbate racial profiling and place blacks and Latinos in danger.”

In other words, the government advising Americans to wear face masks is discriminatory because blacks and hispanics who wear them may be mistaken for criminals.

Michigan Rep. Karen Whitsett credits hydroxychloroquine, President Trump for her recovery from COVID-19

I usually support Trump, but all I can say is that in southern Colorado our local hospitals and first-responders are asking for donations of masks, including home-made. So Trump needs to get out of the cone-of-silence and find out what the rest of the country is going through.

@ashepherd, thanks for the info.

Do you have any data on what is needed, how many ICU cases, hospitalizations, etc.?

Thx

@ashepherd - Shouldn't that be your governor who's responsible for taking care of this?
This is not Federal mandate.

To ashepherd. You're from Colorado I assume. You voted in the fools running this as IT IS A STATE RESPONSIBILITY to care for their citizens with the Federal government as a backup. We can't help it if you are dumb enough to elect traitors (any dimocrat) to run your state.

To ashspherd, how many solar projects, bike paths, refugee projects was this governor diverting funds to rather than insuring the proper emergency medical gear was in place? Why wasn't your state legislature doing the same?
