One like is a review of "The Fate of Rome." Definitely recommended.

I've read the book and found it very insightful to our situation. It was a much worst disease, of course.

One flash was that when half of the population dies, there is no one to pay their debts to the banks and lenders. They in turn go bust. Between a collapse of money and the reduction in supply of productive labor, society was in a world of hurt.
