SUDDENLY: Roy Moore Accused of Sexual Encounter... 38 Years Ago

By William Teach

Let’s get right to it:

Woman says Roy Moore initiated sexual encounter when she was 14, he was 32

Leigh Corfman says she was 14 years old when an older man approached her outside a courtroom in Etowah County, Ala. She was sitting on a wooden bench with her mother, they both recall, when the man introduced himself as Roy Moore.

It was early 1979 and Moore — now the Republican nominee in Alabama for a U.S. Senate seat — was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney. He struck up a conversation, Corfman and her mother say, and offered to watch the girl while her mother went inside for a child custody hearing...

NSFW: Unless You’re a Senator

By Valyrian

It’s Day Four of Sen. Bob Menendez’s (D-NJ) felony bribery and corruption trial, and the foreign girlfriends of his wealthy Medicare-defrauding donor are testifying about how Menendez used his official office to get them visas. Yesterday, we learned Menendez ordered a former staffer to “call Ambassador asap” to push visas through for these “bombshells.”

New York Post: Getting these beauties visas was high on Menendez’s to-do list: aide. “Things to do for a busy US senator: ‘Cuba policy,’ ‘Afghanistan’ — and getting visas for a married pal’s Dominican bombshell girlfriend and her sister.

I Rewrote the New York Times’ Report on Sen. Bob Menendez’s Corruption Trial As if He Was a Republican

You probably already know that yesterday's New York Times report on the trial of Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) was buried on page A15.

You probably also know that the original version of the story omitted Menendez's party affiliation.

After a brief uproar, the Times finally added the Senator's party to the story.

I took the liberty of rewriting the story originally authored by Nick Corasaniti -- if that is his real name. I just pretended that Menendez was a Republican, in which case this story would have been on page A1, above the fold...

MEDIA CENSORSHIP: Networks Hide Senator Bob Menendez’s [D-NJ] Corruption Trial

By NTK Network

Federal prosecutors are currently trying to put away Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) on corruption charges, but in the world of the mainstream media, the trial isn’t even going on.

If found guilty, Menendez’s replacement could increase GOP control in the upper chamber of the legislature.

However, despite the high stakes, broadcast news networks have barely even mentioned the senator’s name this year, let alone the trial:

Sen. Robert Menendez's (D-NJ) No-Good, Awful, Very Bad Day

By Scott Mailer

The walls are closing in on Senator Robert Menendez. With Dr. Salomon Melgen’s conviction today, it’s clear Menendez isn’t long for the Senate. It’s time for Senator Schumer to see that too.

Menendez's political career was handed a massive setback today. One of his key partners -- Dr. Salomon Melgen -- was convicted on all 67 counts of Medicare fraud. It's now apparent that Menendez’s days in the Senate are numbered... possibly in the single digits.

TRULY PATHETIC: Marco Rubio Caught in Numerous, Obvious Lies While Attacking Breitbart.com

Marco Rubio spent the morning on Fox News ripping into the highly-trafficked Breitbart website for its exclusive interview with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) Council President Chris Crane.

In the article ("On Eve of SC Vote, Nation's ICE Officers Detail Rubio's Betrayal"), Crane illustrates Rubio's sellout of the American people to the open borders crowd, including the government of Mexico, Chuck Schumer, La Raza, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Crane's descriptions depict the Beltway insider virus at its very worst.

So you'll never guess how Rubio responded to Crane's incredibly accurate description of Rubio's treasonous activities.

THE REAL MARCO RUBIO IN A SINGLE TWEET: "Legalization Comes First -- It Is Not Conditional"

Marco Rubio has spent his entire Senate career fighting tooth and nail for Amnesty.

In advancing his "Gang of Eight" immigration scheme, he collaborated with the loathsome Chuck Schumer, along with Dick Durbin, Michael Bennet, Bob ("Want some candy, little girl?") Menendez, Jeff Flake, and the same-sex senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

Most importantly, however, Rubio told a Spanish language television audience his real plan for legalizing the 20 million or more illegal aliens in the U.S.:

Marco Rubio Has Some Swampland He’d Like to Sell You

By Jen Kuznicki

To hear the Rubio supporters tell it — unsurprisingly the same people who supported Romney and McCain and Cochran and McConnell and (insert list of Republican white beards here) — Ted Cruz opposed the Gang of Eight bill because there just wasn’t enough liberal policy in it.

Yes, the likes of Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Michael Bennet (D-C), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), John S. McCain III (R-AZ), and Marco Rubio (R-FL) just couldn’t insert enough liberal, “open border” policy into the Gang of Eight bill, they needed Ted Cruz R-TX to show them the way.

SEN. MENENDEZ (D-NJ): Obama’s Iran Deal is a complete and utter failure -- and I will vote to override a veto

By Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ)

For twenty three years as a member of the House Foreign Affairs and Senate Foreign Relations Committees, I have had the privilege of dealing with major foreign policy and national security issues.  Many of those have been of a momentous nature. This is one of those moments.

I come to the issue of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, with Iran, as someone who has followed Iran's nuclear ambition for the better part of two decades.  I decide on whether to support or oppose an issue on the basis of whether, it is in my judgment, in the national interest and security of our country to do so.

In this case a secondary, but important, question is what it means for our great ally -- the State of Israel -- and our other partners in the Gulf.

Unlike President Obama's characterization of those who have raised serious questions about the agreement, or who have opposed it, I did not vote for the war in Iraq, I opposed it, unlike the Vice President and the Secretary of State, who both supported it.  My vote against the Iraq war was unpopular at the time, but it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I also don't come to this question as someone, unlike many of my Republican colleagues, who reflexively oppose everything the President proposes.  In fact, I have supported President Obama, according to Congressional Quarterly, 98 percent of the time in 2013 and 2014.  My dear, late mother would have been happy if I had agreed with her 98 percent of the time -- and I revered her.

On key policies ranging from voting in the Finance Committee and on the Senate Floor for the Affordable Care Act, to Wall Street Reform, to supporting the President's Supreme Court Nominees and defending the Administration’s actions on the Benghazi tragedy, his Pivot to Asia, shepherding the authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) to stop President Assad's use of chemical weapons, during the time I was Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, to so much more, I have been a reliable supporter of President Obama.

But my support is not – and has not been driven by party loyalty, but rather by principled agreement, not political expediency.  When I have disagreed it is also based on principled disagreement.

The issue before the Congress in September is whether to vote to approve or disapprove the agreement struck by the President and our P5+1 partners with Iran.  This is one of the most serious national security, nuclear nonproliferation, arms control issues of our time.  It is not an issue of supporting or opposing the President.  This issue is much greater and graver than that.

White House Takes Out Two Democrat Critics of its Insane Iran Deal in One Week: Hillary and Menendez

It would appear that the Obama back office is far more competent than its front office.

Lee Smith asks a logical question: "We’ve Known About Hillary’s Email for Years. Why the Hoopla This Week?"

...the public first became aware that Clinton was using her personal email two years ago, in March 2013, when a Romanian Internet activist using the nickname Guccifer hacked into Clinton ally Sidney Blumenthal’s AOL account and uncovered a trove of work emails between the two from and to her personal account...

So, why did it take the Obama Administration two years to admit to what was already known and to then suggest that Clinton’s behavior was reckless and may have even been criminal? And why did it take so long for a major news organization like the New York Times to come up with the big “scoop” it published earlier this week?

Or to put the question another way, why did Hillary Clinton become the Obama Administration’s bête noire this very week, the same one during which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pulled all of the world’s focus onto the issue of the administration’s negotiations with Iran?

The answer is that the two are related: This week’s tarring of Hillary Clinton is part of the White House’s political campaign to shut off debate about its hoped-for deal. It’s not hard to see why they’re anxious. With Netanyahu’s speech forcing lawmakers and editorial writers to face up to the proposed agreement’s manifest problems, the administration fears the prospect of Democrats jumping ship and signing on to Kirk-Menendez sanctions legislation that also would give Congress oversight on the deal. So far, the White House has managed to keep Democratic lawmakers in line, no matter how much they seem to question the wisdom of the proposed deal. Hillary Clinton, gearing up for a 2016 run in which she is likely to put some distance between herself and Obama’s dubious Middle East policies, is the one major national Democratic figure who can give Democrats in Congress cover.

Did someone say "Menendez"?

SESSIONS: If Democrats Really Cared About "Paycheck Fairness", They Would Fight Illegal Immigration

By Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)

Earlier this week I spoke about the president’s promise that he would issue an executive amnesty to 5 or 6 million people. The planned amnesty would include work permits, photo IDs, and Social Security numbers for millions of people who illegally entered the U.S., illegally overstayed their visas, or defrauded U.S. immigration authorities.

The Senate Democratic conference has supported and enabled the president’s unlawful actions and blocked every effort to stop them. Not even one of our Democratic colleagues has backed the House legislation that would stop this planned executive amnesty or demanded that Senator Reid bring it up for a vote. Every Senate Democrat is therefore the president’s partner in his planned lawless acts.

Tonight I would like to talk about the influence of special interests on our nation’s immigration system. How did we get to the point where elected officials, activist groups, the ACLU, and global CEOs are openly working to deny American workers the immigration protections to which they are legally entitled? How did we get to the point where the Democratic party is prepared to nullify and wipe away the immigration laws of the United States of America?

Just yesterday Majority Leader Reid wrote in a tweet something that was shocking. He said: “Since House Republicans have failed to act on immigration, I know the President will. When he does, I hope he goes Real Big.”

Let this sink in for a moment. The majority leader of the Senate is bragging that he knows the president will circumvent Congress to issue executive amnesty to millions, and he is encouraging the president to ensure this amnesty includes as many people as possible. And the White House has acknowledged that 5 to 6 million is the number they are looking at.

Has one Senate Democrat stepped forward to reject Mr. Reid’s statement? Has one Senate Democrat stepped forward to say: I support the legislation passed by the House of Representatives that would secure the border and block this executive amnesty? Have they ever said they support that? Have they ever said: I will do everything in my power to see that the House legislation gets a vote in the Senate so the American people can know what is going on? No. All we hear is silence.

This body is not run by one man. We don’t have a dictator in the great Senate. Every member has a vote. And the only way Senator Reid can succeed in blocking this Senate from voting to stop the president’s executive actions is for members to stop supporting him.

Every senator needs to stand up and represent their constituents — not big business, not the ACLU, not activist groups, not political interests, but the American interests, the workers’ interests. That is what we need to expect from them, and we don’t have but a few weeks, it looks like, to get it done.

In effect, the entire Senate Democratic conference has surrendered the jobs, wages, and livelihoods of their constituents to a group of special interests meeting in secret at the White House. They are surrendering them to executive actions that will foist on the nation what Congress has refused to pass and the American people have rejected. They are plotting at the White House to move forward with executive action no matter what the people think and no matter what Congress — through the people’s House — has decided.

OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS: Endangering the Lives of Millions to Achieve a Permanent Majority

By James Simpson

With reports that illegal immigrants bring the risk of Ebola and other viral illnesses, Association of American Physicians and Surgeons representative, Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet, has noted that, “Border Patrol sources repeatedly warn that we do not know who is coming across our southern borders, all the countries of origin, what diseases they may carry, or where they go after being released with a summons to appear months later in court.”

An investigation by the Accuracy in Media Center for Investigative Journalism shows that American religious groups, using federal money, are facilitating this growing crisis and trying to keep the media in the dark about the nature of the threat.

Importing Dangerous Diseases

As Dr. Vliet indicated, many illegals are bringing in diseases and parasites. They have been shipped around the country under a veil of secrecy. But word is getting out:

  • A Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) facility in Artesia, New Mexico used to house illegals has been locked down following an outbreak of chicken pox.
  • A week earlier the same facility found that 89 of its 603 detainees tested positive for tuberculosis, though none had contracted the disease.
  • Reported infections among illegals include chicken pox, TB, swine flu, pneumonia, other respiratory illnesses and epidemics of scabies and lice.
  • The deadly Chagas disease, formerly limited to Central and South America, is now spreading to the U.S. with an estimated 300,000 cases nationwide. Northern Virginia has been described as “ground zero” for the disease. Its vector, the kissing bug, has been found in Texas, Arizona and California.
  • A DHS Office of Inspector General report states that border agents and their families are contracting the diseases and parasites brought in by illegals. A border agent and others in Texas have contracted TB.

On July 31, President Obama revised a Bush-era executive order allowing for apprehension, detention or conditional release of people with severe respiratory diseases. Was this a coincidence?

A leaked copy of an official Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confidential report was published on August 4th by Brandon Darby of Breitbart Texas. It reveals that, in addition to the flood of illegals from Central America, the border is being penetrated by tens of thousands of illegals from almost every country on the planet. The table below provides a sampling of apprehended Third Country Nationals (TCN) that should be of concern to security officials as well as all Americans.

BUT THEY'RE DOING IT FOR LOVE: Half of All Federal Crimes Occur Near U.S.-Mexico Border

By Judicial Watch

Crime is so high along the Mexican border that nearly half of all the criminal cases filed by federal prosecutors in the United States last fiscal year were concentrated in a handful of districts located in that region, according to the U.S. government’s figures.

It’s not as if this is new, but to see it spelled out in a government report with a detailed breakdown is truly alarming. The statistics illustrate that the Mexican-border region is a cesspool of crime that’s costing American taxpayers a chunk of change not to mention loads of grief. There are 94 federal court districts in this country and the five located near the southern border see a large portion of criminal cases, according to the Justice Department’s annual report on criminal prosecutions. The five federal districts also have the biggest number of defendants actually convicted of federal crimes.

Of the 61,529 criminal cases initiated by federal prosecutors last fiscal year, more than 40%—or 24,746—were filed in court districts neighboring the Mexican border. This includes Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California, Western Texas and Southern Texas. The two Texas districts each had more than double the convictions of all four federal court districts in the state of New York combined, according to the DOJ report. The Western Texas District had the nation’s heaviest crime flow, with 6,341 cases filed by the feds. In Southern Texas 6,130 cases were filed, 4,848 in Southern California, 3,889 in New Mexico and 3,538 in Arizona.

Not surprisingly, most of the offenses were immigration related. In fact, 38.6% of all federal cases (23,744) filed last year involved immigration, the DOJ report confirms. Nearly 22% (13,383) were drug related, 19.7% (12,123) were violent crimes and 10.2% (6,300) involved white-collar offenses that include a full range of frauds committed by business and government professionals. This is hardly earth-shattering news in fact, the nation’s southern border region has for years been known for its high crime rate compared to the rest of the country.

However, the problem has escalated at an alarming rate in the last few years. Last spring Judicial Watch reported that violence in the region has gotten so out of control that both Mexican and American journalists have largely stopped reporting it out of fear that drug cartels will retaliate against them and their families. Around the same time a small town paper in Reynosa, the twin border city of McAllen in south Texas, bravely ran a story describing the fear and panic that filled the streets during a three-hour firefight between rival drug cartels.

19 Illegal Immigration Facts You'll Never Read in Legacy Media

By Michael Snyder

Should we roll out the red carpet and allow millions upon millions of thieves, rapists, gang members and drug dealers to come waltzing into this country any time they would like? Should we broadcast a message to the rest of the world that anyone that can find a way to enter this country and somehow get to a “sanctuary city” can sign up for a plethora of welfare benefits and live a life of leisure at the expense of hard working American citizens?

Yes, those questions sound absurd, but what I have just described will essentially be official U.S. government policy if the immigration bill going through Congress becomes law. And unfortunately, Democrats now say that they have the Republican votes that they need to get “immigration reform” through the House of Representatives. If this amnesty bill becomes law, it will encourage even more illegal immigration and it will be one more step toward making the U.S. border essentially meaningless.

Right now, we desperately need the American people to contact their representatives in Congress and demand that they vote against this bill. Sadly, this is not likely to happen because most Americans have absolutely no idea how negatively illegal immigration is affecting this nation.

The following are 19 very disturbing facts about illegal immigration that every American should know…

Top General: Mexico Border Security Now ‘Existential’ Threat to U.S.

Methinks Major General Kelly may soon be entering an early and unplanned retirement.

A top United States general in charge of protecting the southern border says he’s been unable to combat the steady flow of illegal drugs, weapons and people from Central America, and is looking to Congress for urgent help.

Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, commander of U.S. Southern Command, has asked Congress this year for more money, drones and ships for his mission – a request unlikely to be met. Since October, an influx of nearly 100,000 migrants has made the dangerous journey north from Latin America to the United States border. Most are children, and three-quarters of the unaccompanied minors have traveled thousands of miles from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

“In comparison to other global threats, the near collapse of societies in the hemisphere with the associated drug and [undocumented immigrant] flow are frequently viewed to be of low importance,” Kelly told Defense One. “Many argue these threats are not existential and do not challenge our national security. I disagree.”

...Gen. Kelly says the poverty and violence prompting the migration have created a real threat to U.S. national security. Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala have the first, fourth and fifth-highest homicide rates in the world and “have left near-broken societies in their wake,” he said.

How can illegal aliens be in "the shadows" when each one receives thousands of dollars in benefits each year?

Out from the shadows: We are told -- or rather, instructed -- by the Beltway ruling class that our duty as Americans is to bring illegal aliens "out from the shadows". Never mind that we can find illegal aliens wherever we turn.

Illegal immigration costs American taxpayers more than $110 billion each year.

Worse yet, we're starting to discover all of the nuggets hidden inside the Corker-Rubio-Schumer Amnesty Crap Sandwich -- you know, that other bill no one bothered to read. Some of the pieces of undigested corn:

BUSINESSES GET TAX BREAKS FOR HIRING ILLEGAL ALIENS OVER CITIZENS
Well, now we know why the corporatists like Karl Rove and Jeb Bush support this madness. According to Sen. Ted Cruz, businesses get a tax break for hiring a legalized illegal over an American citizen.

...the “bipartisan” immigration bill creates a $5,000 incentive per employee for businesses to hire workers legalized under the immigration bill, in preference to citizens or legal immigrants.

BORDER SECURITY IS LEFT UP TO THE DISCRETION OF... JANET NAPOLITANO
Have you seen those commercials on television that assert the Rove-Rubio-Schumer Amnesty bill is "conservative"? The ones that say the border will be secured? Can you guess what I'm going to say next? Yep: it's bullcrap.

The new version of the “Gang of Eight” bill, repackaged with the “border surge” amendment from Sens. Bob Corker (R-TN) and John Hoeven (R-ND), would grant the Secretary of Homeland Security the authority to decide whether or not to implement the border security technology and fencing provisions in the bill...

Ignoring them would result in no repercussions whatsoever.

In short, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano gets to veto any of the border security measures passed by Congress.

DHS HAS NEARLY TOTAL DISCRETION OVER WHO GETS TO STAY IN THE U.S.
Another loophole in the McCain-Graham-McConnell Amnesty bill gives Napolitano complete latitude over who gets to stay in the U.S..

The Secretary can do pretty much whatever she wants in terms of waiving removal or deportation of a person attempting to enter the country or in the country illegally based on her determination of the “public interest"... There are similar provisions in section 3215 as to admissibility into the United States...

The section not only guarantees that a single family member being lawfully in the country will allow the full immediate family to stay, but it also will provide the Secretary — Janet Napolitano now — with broad discretion to allow anyone to stay for almost any reason.

THE 9/11 TERRORISTS COULD HAVE RECEIVED AMNESTY UNDER THE RUBIO-SCHUMER-CORKER BILL
Walid Shoebat observes that many of the 9/11 terrorists violated the terms of their visas and others overstayed their visas. Under the Mendendez-Graham Amnesty Bill, these terrorists could have been rewarded with citizenship.

If this amendment – or something like it – is part of any final bill that becomes law, obtaining a work visa will become quite desirous on the part of those who plot against the U.S. Are there stealth jihadists out there who would set out to acquire a work visa if they knew that once it expired, they could overstay it, not only without consequence, but with the reward of citizenship?

What about that secure border?

Perhaps in another ten years, we can make it contingent on giving stealth jihadists the right to vote.

William A. Jacobson summarizes the Senate's undemocratic process: "The rush to a vote in the Senate does not allow time to fully understand all the provisions. And that’s why the rush is taking place."

This bill must be stopped in the House. We will need to put maximum pressure on the feckless House leadership and every Republican member of Congress. Gird your loins.

GENIUS: Senate Republicans pass yet another immigration bill that the Obama administration is certain to ignore

I know why the Democrats want Amnesty for illegals: it guarantees them a brand new voting bloc dependent upon their big government handouts.

But perhaps the geniuses John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Marco Rubio -- ostensibly Republicans, but in truth of unknown political affiliation -- can explain the following to me. Why would an administration that has gleefully flouted and ignored existing immigration laws decide to rigidly enforce this latest monstrosity?

That's a rhetorical question.

Just minutes ago, the RINO establishment teamed with the hard left Democrat Party to pass the Corker Amendment that not one member of the Senate has read or understands. The vote was 67-27 to advance this Obamacare-like bill.

Here is the Hall of Shame: These are the 15 RINOs who betrayed the trust of the American people.
Corker Alexander Ayotte Chiesa
Collins Flake Graham Hatch
Heller Hoeven Kirk McCain
Murkowski Rubio Wicker
The American people are orders of magnitude smarter than their representatives: Rasmussen reports that only 28 percent believe the administration will secure the border if the Rubio-Schumer Amnesty bill passes.

FACE THE NATION: Sen. Jeff Sessions Eviscerates the Rubio-Schumer-Corker Amnesty Bill

The Rubio-Schumer Amnesty bill -- and the so-called Corker Amendment -- represent a crime against the American citizenry and an affront to every legal immigrant. Appearing on Face the Nation this morning, Senator Jeff Sessions spoke truth to power.

This bill grants amnesty first and a mere promise of enforcement in the future, even with the Corker-Hoeven amendment, all of which has been put in now on a 1,200 page [bill] we’ll vote on Monday afternoon that no one has read… These promises of 20,000 agents won’t take place and are not required until 2021… It [even] has a specific provision that says the Sec. Napolitano does not have to build a fence if she chooses not to… And CBO concludes that the legal immigration will be dramatically increased… Why would any Member of Congress want to vote for a bill, at a time of high unemployment [and] falling wages, to bring in a huge surge of new labor that can only hurt the poorest among us the most?

On The Rush To Vote: This bill grants amnesty first and a mere promise of enforcement in the future, even with the Corker-Hoeven amendment, all of which has been put in now on a 1,200 page [bill] we’ll vote on Monday afternoon that no one has read… I think if people find out that this amendment does not accomplish what the sponsors believe it does, then I think the bill could be back in trouble again... Why would any Member of Congress want to vote for a bill, at a time of high unemployment [and] falling wages, to bring in a huge surge of new labor that can only hurt the poorest among us the most?

No Added Border Security: These promises of 20,000 agents won’t take place and are not required until 2021, no money is being appropriated for that, it's merely an authorization... It [even] has a specific provision that says the Sec. Napolitano does not have to build a fence if she chooses not to. And she has publicly said that she thinks we have enough fencing.

On CBO's Finding That Bill Will Depress Wages: The reason why this amendment was thrown in here at the last minute is because the promises were not fulfilled, and this amendment does not fulfill its promises either, frankly.... We are going to have amnesty first, no enforcement in the future, and we're going to have continued illegality—at least 75% according to the CBO report. And CBO concludes that the legal immigration will be dramatically increased…We're going to have lower wages and higher unemployment according to the CBO analysis of this bill.

This bill is a disaster. If it passes, it guarantees at least three things will happen to the U.S. over the coming decade:

• We will see the arrival of tens of millions of mostly low-skilled workers who will be dependent on the American taxpayer to survive.

• That influx of low-skilled labor will translate to Lower wages for American workers across the board.

• And that surge assures higher levels of unemployment for American workers.

There's a reason the Democrats and Pseudo-Republicans are trying to rush this bill through the Senate. They don't want you to know what's in it.

It's time to take action. Call your Senator and two other Senators now: Say No to Amnesty. And then call them again on Monday.
