That Evil, Lying President Trump

Wait, did I say "President Trump"? My mistake. The irreplaceable Larry Elder reminds us about real lies:

COVERING PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS? Call It What It Is. Welfare, Not Insurance.

By Rush Limbaugh

Can someonte tell me why should insurance companies have to cover people who got sick and didn’t have insurance and now want to get — why should they have to cover that?

Do you realize doing that raises everybody’s premiums? That isn’t even insurance. If we want to provide insurance for people, preexisting conditions, set up a separate entitlement called the preexisting conditions welfare plan. It isn’t insurance, and it raises everybody’s premiums. It’s what’s wrong with this.

Do not misunderstand me, please, folks. I am not opposed to people with preexisting conditions being treated. We are a compassionate country. But it isn’t insurance...

NUKE THE FILIBUSTER: Democrats Started the Fight, It's Time to Finish It

By Daniel Greenfield

Senator Harry Reid had big plans for the filibuster last year. The outgoing minority leader was bragging that the filibuster would be eliminated if Republicans tried to stop President Hillary Clinton’s judicial appointments.

"I have set the Senate so when I leave we’re going to be able to get judges done with a majority. It takes only a simple majority anymore," the top Democrat bragged. "They mess with the Supreme Court: it'll be changed just like that."

But instead of watching the maids hang up her pantsuits in the White House closets, Hillary Clinton is working on a collection of essays that she hopes someone will want to buy and Harry Reid is yelling at the children playing on his lawn. The Democrats don’t have the Senate or the White House.

And, as President Trump has urged, it’s time to nuke the filibuster.

VOXSPLODER EZRA KLEIN: Trump Adviser Makes Obamacare Harder to Repeal or Something

By William Teach

Excitable Ezra Klein does his best to Voxsplain a comment by Kellanne Conway, but, utterly whiffs while simultaneously admitting that Obama lied his mom jeans posterior off.

Trump’s “if you like your insurance, you can keep it” moment

One of Trump’s top advisers just made repealing Obamacare much, much harder.

Right there in the headline we see it: Obama lied. Let’s continue:

BUMMER: GOP Plans Immediate Obamacare Repeal and Delay

By William Teach

You can’t just rip the bandaid off:

(NY Times) Republicans in Congress plan to move almost immediately next month to repeal the Affordable Care Act, as President-elect Donald J. Trump promised. But they also are likely to delay the effective date so that they have several years to phase out President Obama’s signature achievement.

This emerging “repeal and delay” strategy, which Speaker Paul D. Ryan discussed this week with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, underscores a growing recognition that replacing the health care law will be technically complicated and could be politically explosive.

Despicable Weasel Harry Reid (Which Is the Term He Prefers, I Hear) Finally Breaks the Hypocrisy-Meter

By ARsquared

In advance of Harry Reid’s press call on the Supreme Court this afternoon, AR2 thought it was important to again point out his past hypocrisy and his tendency to play politics with this issue.

Remember, in 2005, Reid said on the Senate floor that nowhere in the Constitution “does it say the Senate has a duty to give presidential nominees ‘an up or down vote.’”

GEE, I WONDER WHY THE VOTERS ARE ANGRY? GOPe sells out on... Common Core, of all things

By Genevieve Wood

To watch the recent happenings on Capitol Hill, you would think this was just another typical presidential election year—a few bumps here and there, but no sign of a major shake-up, no indication voters were in revolt, nothing to suggest business as usual in Washington was perhaps falling out of fashion among the American public.

What else explains the lackluster, uninspiring; and, I would suggest, “sell-out your base” agenda of GOP congressional leadership?

AWESOME: Obamacare has Blue Cross Singing the Blues

By Investors Business Daily

Health Care: The insurance industry must be kicking itself for backing ObamaCare. Several have since posted big losses and it looks like Blue Cross Blue Shield got the losing end of the stick, too.

Fitch Ratings looked at nearly three dozen BCBS companies and found that 23 saw a decline in earnings that totaled $1.9 billion in the first nine months of last year, while 16 had net losses.

OBAMACARE: A Naked Plot to Bankrupt America

By Cliff Kincaid

One topic of conversation in the Republican race for the White House has been whether President Obama has been incompetent, or actually knows what he’s doing. On the matter of Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Obamacare, self-declared socialist Professor Gerald Friedman seems to agree with conservatives that it can’t and won’t work. Friedman, a supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) “Medicare for All” single-payer plan, says that Obama and his advisers knew that the ACA was a “bad idea” that would not control costs, and that a total federal takeover of the health care system was inevitable.

The problem with a federal takeover of health care is that it would bankrupt the U.S., leading to left-wing demands for even more federal control. This is how socialism is coming to America.

OPEN LETTER TO PAUL RYAN AND MITCH McCONNELL: We Demand You Defend the Second Amendment!

By Conservative HQ

If You Won’t Stand With Us Against Obama’s Threat To Our Second Amendment Rights, Why Should We Stand With You On Election Day?

As leaders of the Republican majority in Congress you have consistently betrayed America’s conservative majority and failed to fulfill your campaign promises to fight President Obama’s unconstitutional attempts to “fundamentally change America”:

Vote for the Candidate Both Sides Fear

By Brent Smith

Yes, Cruz is the real deal. No need to take my word for it. Just look and listen. It’s as Limbaugh says: the left and the establishment right will always tell you who they fear the most.

Sure, they hate both Trump and Cruz. The hatred for Trump is understandable, from their standpoint. He makes Republicans look bad. He’s intolerant and generally causes them embarrassment.

But the antipathy for Cruz is born of fear. They fear the end of the government gravy train if he gets elected. They fear that with Cruz at the helm, Americans may just discover they don’t actually need Washington involved in every facet of their lives. They fear an uncompromising constitutional standard bearer as head of the party.

PRIMAL SCREAM: Obama to Import Millions More Aliens to Replace U.S. White Collar Workers, Also Stop Deportations

And the GOPe Beltway insiders wonder why Americans are so pissed?

...Barack Obama is preparing a colossal new executive action that could print-up work permits for a huge number of foreign white-collar graduates every year, above and beyond the levels set by Congress.

This executive action, which directly bypasses Congressional lawmakers, is likely to reverberate across the presidential race, as GOP voters look to choose a nominee they believe will most effectively roll back the President’s still-expanding agenda. And it will certainly raise new security concerns as it covers categories of immigration utilized by migrants from the Middle East and nearby regions.

"US Debt Is Three Times More Than You Think" Warns Former Chief U.S. Accountant

By Tyler Durden

In a shocking admission for most of mainstream America, the former U.S. comptroller general says the real U.S. debt is closer to about $65 trillion than the oft-cited figure of $18 trillion, thanks to unfunded liabilities which simply cannot be ignored. As The Hill reports, unless economic growth accelerates, he warns, "you’re not going to be able to provide the kind of social safety net that we need in this country," adding unequivocially that Americans have "lost touch with reality" when it comes to spending. As The Hill reports:

OBAMACARE: The Gift That Keeps on Taking

By Jim Quinn

Isn’t it interesting that the mainstream media offers barely a peep about the ongoing and worsening Obamacare debacle?

Healthcare premiums, co-pays and deductibles are soaring, while doctor and plan choices contract to a minuscule level. Recent surveys reveal the hardship being inflicted upon families across the nation. Those who are willfully baffled by the lack of consumer spending need look no further than Obamacare and its impact on the budgets of hard working Americans.

TED CRUZ GOES NUCLEAR ON GOPe: Mitch McConnell "Has Proven to be a Very Effective Democratic Leader"

By Kate Scanlon

In a speech Thursday on the Senate floor, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, sharply criticized the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015, a budget deal between former House Speaker John Boehner and President Barack Obama.

Cruz said the deal is yet another example of the failure of the “so-called Republican majority” to deliver on their promises to the American people.

“Now, if someone is an effective Democratic leader, you would expect them to be able to pass legislation when a majority of Democrats supported it and a majority of Republicans opposed it,” Cruz said. “Indeed, if you’re a partisan Democrat, that would be almost the definition of an effective Democratic leader.”

“Nineteen times in the last ten months this so-called Republican majority has passed legislation, has had a vote succeed where a majority of Democrats supported it and a majority of Republicans opposed it,” Cruz added.

Cruz said that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., “has proven to be a very effective Democratic leader.”

Paul Ryan Doesn’t Believe in Borders or National Sovereignty

By Julia Hahn

As the donor class continues to push for a Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) Speakership, conservative activists have renewed their scrutiny of Ryan’s support for a radical Republican policy of open borders. Breitbart News has discovered yet another little-noticed video in which Ryan articulates his commitment to immigration policies that would dissolve America’s sovereignty.

The video, uploaded by the Journal Times, shows Ryan at a July 2013 bilingual Hispanic Listening Session in Racine, Wisconsin. At the meeting, Paul Ryan told a predominantly Hispanic audience that the job of a U.S. lawmaker is to put oneself in the shoes of foreign nationals who want to come to the United States, then work to discover solutions to make their lives better.

The Journal Times notes that the purpose of the meeting was for Ryan to “explai[n] to them his motives” for pushing to enact Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’s amnesty and mass immigration agenda in the House of Representatives.

As Ryan spoke, translators conveyed his message to audience members who did not speak English:

MOST! TRANSPARENT! EVAH! White House concealing list of a dozen dying Obamacare insurers

By Richard Pollock

Federal officials have a secret list of 11 Obamacare health insurance co-ops they fear are on the verge of failure, but they refuse to disclose them to the public or to Congress, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation has learned.

Just in the last three weeks, five of the original 24 Obamacare co-ops announced plans to close, bringing the total of failures to eight barely two years after their launch with $2 billion in start-up capital from the taxpayers under the Affordable Care Act.

All 24 received 15-year loans in varying amounts to offer health insurance to poor and low income customers and provide publicly funded competition to private, for-profit insurers. The eight co-ops to announce closings served populations in ten states: Iowa, Nebraska, Kentucky, West Virginia, Louisiana, Nevada, Tennessee, Vermont, New York and Colorado.

Nearly half a million failing co-op customers will have to find new coverage in 2016. More than $900 million of the original $2 billion in loans has been lost.

The 11 unidentified co-ops appear to be still operating but are now on “enhanced oversight” by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, which manages the Obamacare program. The 11 received letters from CMS demanding that they take urgent actions to avoid closing.

Aaron Albright, chief CMS spokesman, said 11 co-ops “are either on a corrective action plan or enhanced oversight. We have not released the letters or names.” He gave no grounds for withholding the information from either the public or Congress.
