Biden's Energy Depression Is Nigh

What will skyrocketing energy prices mean for U.S. consumers this winter? Seniors, the poor, those living paycheck to paycheck will suffer most. But all will suffer.

The effect of these increases -- the lack of trickle-down economics -- seems pretty obvious. Unless someone powerful gets this administration to sweep the deck of climate radicals, people will needlessly die. All will suffer.

On his first day in office, President Biden shut down the Keystone XL pipeline, closed Alaska's reserves (ANWR), canceled offshore leases, and imposed massive new regulatory burdens on firms that distribute clean natural gas and petroleum products that contribute to every aspect of American life.

When gas prices skyrocketed earlier this year, the administration began draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to historically (and dangerously) low levels. This has temporarily kept prices in check, but only because of the midterm elections. After the midterms, if the radicalized EPA isn't reined in, we should prepare for $8 gas, minimum. If Democrats retain power, we are in for a succession of long, dark winters.

If left unchecked, this "progressive" administration will touch off -- needlessly -- a second Great Depression.

The Federal Reserve can continue to pretend to attack inflation through large, spasmodic rate hikes. It won't work. At some point, the Fed will have to recognize reality. The inflationary nightmare destroying American households and their portfolios are rooted in Biden's climate strategy. The strategy, orchestrated by anti-human progressives, is to starve America of clean natural gas and other fossil fuels that are actually reducing CO2 (and I'm using their benchmark, because demonized CO2 is 100% harmless).

That's not a humble brag. That's a fact.

I was trying to find an old post I'd written on the origins of the global warming alarmist movement. I had copiously researched all aspects of the issue, from Dr. Michael Mann's tree ring analyses to Dr. Richard Lindzen's holistic assessments.

I simply could not find many of my prior writings using $GOOG search, even though I knew many had received a lot of traffic. Thousands of page-views each.

Using an alternative search engine (e.g., DuckDuckGo.com), I was able to easily find my own article.

So without further ado, I urge you to read a bit, knowing these arguments were so irrefutable, so ironclad, that some Marxist loser at $GOOG with a low-band job was forced to put them on a blacklist for too much accuracy.

Yes, my friends, it was another hilariously disastrous confirmation hearing! China Joe Biden’s Interior Secretary nominee Rep. Deb Haaland dodged, ducked, dipped, dived and dodged again on questions any Interior nominee would normally be able to answer:

• 
  Haaland admitted that shutting down pipelines costs jobs
• She refused to rule out blocking existing pipelines
• When asked if transporting oil by pipeline is safe for the environment than shipping by truck or rail (a basic IQ test, mind you), she responded, "I wish I could answer"
• Haaland claimed ignorance on whether shutting down drilling on federal lands will increase foreign oil dependency
• She said she was “not briefed” on whether the environmental standards in countries like Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Venezuela are worse than in the U.S.
• Many schools' budgets rely on drilling on federal lands and would face massive budget deficits without it. Asked about it, she struggled to answer (perhaps thinking that sacrificing generations of children for a United Nations climate scam was a good trade)
• And she stood by her suggestion that marijuana might be the solution for the millions of jobs lost and the funding woes caused by Biden’s policies

 

We all “wish” Biden's radical nominee or "Haaland", if that is her real name, offered straight answers to these questions. But alas, after years of advocating for a Green New Deal-style agenda, she now has no answers for the impacts of her radical policies.  That’s not good news for tens of millions of workers whose livelihoods would be crushed under her regime.

THE 97 PERCENT LIE: The myth of the 97 percent global warming consensus

By Roy Spencer, Ph.D., principal research scientist in the Earth System Science Center. Prior to joining The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Dr. Spencer was a senior scientist for climate studies at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.

Nothing helps raise public awareness like a good meme, and at least on that score, the "97 percent of scientists agree" meme has been wildly successful in convincing people that the science of global warming is settled. But as we shall see, the statistic - even if it were true - tells us nothing particularly useful regarding the global warming debate.

The 97 percent number comes from a 2013 paper that was published by John Cook in Environmental Research Letters and that claimed to review about 12,000 published scientific papers on global warming and climate change. Now, for those of us who work in climate change research, it is well known that "climate change" is widely assumed to be mostly human-caused, despite the fact that very few published studies have actually attempted to demonstrate this to be the case.

Again, it is simply assumed.
