Reminder, as of June 28, 2017, Andrew McCabe was the subject of 3 separate pending investigations:— Nick Short 🇺🇸 (@PoliticalShort) March 17, 2018
1- Department of Justice Office of Inspector General examining his failure to recuse himself from the Clinton investigation due to his political relationship with McAuliffe.
2- OSC investigating allegations he violated the Hatch Act by engaging in political campaign activities.— Nick Short 🇺🇸 (@PoliticalShort) March 17, 2018
3- Subject of a pending Equal EEO complaint by a female FBI agent for sex discrimination, alleging she was targeted for retaliation because of her complaint.
Flynn provided a letter of support for the complainant in that EEO case, which raises serious questions about why McCabe failed to recuse himself from investigations involving Flynn. Also, why was McCabe the approval authority for his own recusal memo? https://t.co/30MRkR7Q0s pic.twitter.com/4LLgt5VS5C— Nick Short 🇺🇸 (@PoliticalShort) March 17, 2018
4 days after Lynch met w/Bill on tarmac, Strzok texted Page: “Timing looks like hell. Will appear choreographed.” Page responds, “It's real profile in courage since she knows no charges will be brought.” Undercuts Comey claim that he acted alone when recommending against charges. pic.twitter.com/7ZNJlzkSQ7— Nick Short 🇺🇸 (@PoliticalShort) January 23, 2018
So name names, Andy: who in the DOJ opposed the investigation? And what did you do about it? Why don't we know anything about your magnificent effort to bring Hillary to justice and how you battled the evil DOJ to do so?
...The OIG investigation has focused on information I chose to share with a reporter through my public affairs officer and a legal counselor. As Deputy Director, I was one of only a few people who had the authority to do that. It was not a secret, it took place over several days, and others, including the Director, were aware of the interaction with the reporter. It was the type of exchange with the media that the Deputy Director oversees several times per week. In fact, it was the same type of work that I continued to do under Director Wray, at his request. The investigation subsequently focused on who I talked to, when I talked to them, and so forth. During these inquiries, I answered questions truthfully and as accurately as I could amidst the chaos that surrounded me. And when I thought my answers were misunderstood, I contacted investigators to correct them...
Ah, the good old "chaos" defense.
All the liberals trying to stick up for McCabe: he commited perjury to Congress 4 times. He leaked classified intel to the press at least three times. He lied under oath on depositions two times. He rigged a court hearing to illegally spy on an American citizen.— 🗿SicSemp 🗿 (@LeonidasBowman) March 17, 2018
I don't think you guys can spin your way out of this one. The internal review notes McCabe lied under oath and leaked classified intel to the press. They are the ones who recommended his termination. The upcoming IG report should solidify everything. Bad week for Dems 😔— Steven P. Crenshaw VIII (@StevieSleeves) March 17, 2018
But looking at that in isolation completely misses the big picture. The big picture is a tale of what can happen when law enforcement is politicized, public servants are attacked, and people who are supposed to cherish and protect our institutions become instruments for damaging those institutions and people...

...Here is the reality: I am being singled out and treated this way because of the role I played, the actions I took, and the events I witnessed in the aftermath of the firing of James Comey. The release of this report was accelerated only after my testimony to the House Intelligence Committee revealed that I would corroborate former Director Comey’s accounts of his discussions with the President. The OIG’s focus on me and this report became a part of an unprecedented effort by the Administration, driven by the President himself, to remove me from my position, destroy my reputation, and possibly strip me of a pension that I worked 21 years to earn. The accelerated release of the report, and the punitive actions taken in response, make sense only when viewed through this lens. Thursday’s comments from the White House are just the latest example of this...
...This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally...
Democrat talking point - Turn the revelation of your corruption into an attack on the entire FBI. Nice try but the Real FBI were happy to see you go. They long for the day the FBI purges itself of political bias. Can not wait for the day you are charged for lying to Congress.— Garth Cook (@garthcook65) February 3, 2018
...It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlights the importance of the Special Counsel’s work...
#Mueller investigation flouts Justice Department standards - my weekend @NRO column: https://t.co/TiZl9KAl1I— Andrew C. McCarthy (@AndrewCMcCarthy) March 17, 2018
...I have always prided myself on serving my country with distinction and integrity, and I always encouraged those around me to do the same. Just ask them. To have my career end in this way, and to be accused of lacking candor when at worst I was distracted in the midst of chaotic events, is incredibly disappointing and unfair. But it will not erase the important work I was privileged to be a part of, the results of which will in the end be revealed for the country to see...
Andy, wasn't aware there was a distraction clause to allow you to lie to federal investigators because you "distracted in the midst of chaotic events".
No one gets fired from the FBI without credible evidence. #McCabefired!! pic.twitter.com/3GJ7vCGMuX— Extortion17 ⚓️ (@CCCINNC) March 17, 2018
...I have unfailing faith in the men and women of the FBI and I am confident that their efforts to seek justice will not be deterred...
And I have unfailing faith that we will purge the rogue DOJ and FBI leaders under the Obama administration from the streets and lock them all up.
Hat tip: BadBlue Uncensored News.
He will have plenty of pension, unless he goes to jail. It's pro-rated with time in service.
There's just a little extra kickoff if you make it to the actual end of service.
I'm sure someone actually from the FBI could look up what the difference is.
When is the hanging scheduled?
His complaint that he was "being singled out" suggests he wasn't acting alone and it also seems like a veiled threat to the other conspirators that he's not gonna go down alone.
If he wants to sue to get his pension, bring it on. I and many others look forward to full 'discovery' in such a case.
Not necessarily. It looks like they are considering a full monty penniless discharge. Further, either way, he loses life medical for himself and family unless he wins in court, maybe. Burn them all.
