LOVELY: Democrats Demand Higher Taxes for the Poorest Americans to Pay for Their Socialist Schemes
Democrats running for president couldn’t be more clear: they want to raise taxes on low- and middle-income Americans. And they’re proud of it!
Not to balance the debt mind you, but to fund their increasingly unhinged policies for "giving" free health care, college tuition, housing and food to everyone in America, with illegal immigrants at the front of the line. Using their logic, they can enslave doctors, nurses, professors, construction workers and farmers to deliver goods and services whether they want to or not.
The latest far-left liberal to enter the Democrat race, Michael Bloomberg, didn’t just argue in favor of raising taxes on the poor—he claimed it was a “good thing” and said he wanted to use taxes to control “problems” with the poorest Americans:

RUSH: Why They All Fear Ted Cruz
It really is striking to see the massive, coordinated, almost panic-filled reaction to Ted Cruz suggesting that a program previously implemented be used again. Everybody involved in the program is denying it or acting like it was a big failure. "Don't associate us with it." And what it was, it was discovered by the AP back on August 11, 2011. It's a 2011 report in August, and the AP find out that the CIA was assisting the NYPD in monitoring New York City Muslim neighborhoods. It was a program started under George W. Bush, continued under... none other than Barack Obama.

With a couple of ill-timed tweets (e.g., "This is how AK-47s get to Paris"), this mentally disturbed group appears to believe that Islamist terrorists, who destroyed the World Trade Center with airplanes and bombed London and Madrid, would obey gun control laws.No word on what they want to do with suicide belts.

THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS: A Stunning Slap in the Face to the Global Warming Grifters
What the midterm voters wanted was an economy that returned to its average 3.3% annual growth since the end of World War II. For six years of the Obama presidency, growth has all but disappeared. In 2013, as measured by the World Bank, it was barely 1.9% That translated into a lack of jobs, stagnant middle class income, and what Obama correctly called the Great Recession, but could not end.
Instead, in the lead-up to the midterm elections, he was still talking about “climate change” as the greatest threat to the nation and the world. For the voters, however, climate change wasn’t even on its list of priorities and with good reason, there is nothing anyone or any nation can or should do about the great forces of nature that determine what the Earth’s climate will be; starting with the Sun.
The day after the elections two major environmental organizations, the Sierra Club and Friends of the Earth (FOE), wrote to their members. Their message was similar and their conclusions were absurd.
“The election’s over and the planet lost,” wrote Erich Pica, FOE president. “The next Congress will be controlled by politicians elected with millions of dollars of the Koch brothers’ oil money—putting at risk the vital environmental protections we’ve fought so hard to achieve.” FOE has more than 2 million activists in 75 nations including the U.S.
What Pica does not mention in his letter is the estimated $85 million spent on six Senate races by what The Hill described as “the nation’s top environmental groups including the League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, the Environmental Defense Fund, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and billionaire Tom Steyer’s NextGen Climate…”
So the Koch brother’s money is evil, but environmental organizations’ money is okay?

NO GUN-FREE ZONES HERE: Deep Blue Los Angeles, CA School Systems Use AR-15s to Discourage Shooting Sprees
School’s back in session next week, and the campus police in Compton are packing more heat than ever. That’s not a reference to the hot drought California has faced in 2014—we’re talking guns. Specifically: controversial AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, approved for use on school campuses to prevent future gun rampages.
“This is our objective—save lives, bottom line,” Compton Unified Police Chief William Wu told the city’s school board. The board has been told that select campus police officers will be allowed buy the rifles and keep them in their cars, in case of a mass shooting incident or terrorist attack.
“Everyone wants children safe. At this time, we as a community, we have to come together and find other ways. But in the interim, our police officers need to be equipped,” he said.
Wu went on to explain how handguns wouldn’t cut it when it comes to thwarting a killer armed to the hilt. “Handguns, you’d be lucky to hit accurately at 25 yards,” he said. Wu added that with a rifle in the right hands, you could strike at “50, 100 yards accurately.”
...The police chief and the mayor of the small city of Fontana, California, meanwhile, backed a controversial line item to order 14 AR-15 rifles in an effort to safeguard schools. The guns are to be stored in locked safes within the schools.
“It’s unfortunate that we have to have that, but it’s the best message we can send to anybody that thinks to harm our children,” said Fontana Police Chief Rodney Jones. “The message we’re sending is…not here, not now, we’re prepared for you. And if you seek to harm our children, we will neutralize that threat and you will most likely be killed.”
What the hysterical author M.L. Nestel fails to inform the reader is that school shootings are down across America:
...the media’s understandable obsession with newsworthiness not only gives Americans a misimpression of what is happening to crime rates and mass killings, but it also encourages mass killers, who thrive on this attention. Reading the Santa Barbara killer’s manifesto, it is clear that he was just one more person who craved attention and felt he could get it by killing as many people as possible.
Unfortunately, these misimpressions caused by the media have real consequences. Legislation gets passed that disarms law-abiding citizens and makes attacks more likely.
I won't hold my breath waiting for Vocativ to issue a rebuttal from a real expert like John Lott.

GOOD NEWS: Radical Anti-Gun Mayor Bloomberg Pours a Quarter Million Dollars Into Thad Cochran's Campaign
Michael Bloomberg just gave Mississippi gun owners 250,000 more reasons to vote for Chris McDaniel in the Republican primary runoff election.
Bloomberg, who has pledged to spend $50 million to push gun control this year, put a quarter of a million dollars into a “super pac” that’s supporting the incumbent, Thad Cochran.
With just one week to go before the election, the other side is obviously getting nervous and is going all out to prop up the establishment candidate.
But Gun Owners of America is all in for Chris McDaniel, a state senator with a record of standing up for your gun rights.
McDaniel will be more than just a good vote in Washington – he will be a pro-gun leader.
McDaniel’s record in the legislature earned him GOA’s highest rating. Here are a few things McDaniel accomplished recently:
- * Sponsored the Mississippi Firearms Freedom Act.
- * Sponsored a concealed carry reciprocity bill that was signed into law.
- * Co-sponsored legislation expanding concealed carry in three consecutive years.
- * Sponsored a “tax holiday” for gun owners and sportsmen in 2012.
These are the bold, principled stances we need U.S. Senators taking while in Washington, D.C.
There are already too many wall flowers in the Senate who won’t stand up to Barack Obama and Harry Reid. We need more fighters.
That’s why GOA is supporting Chris McDaniel in this election next Tuesday.
And that’s why I’m asking you to get involved today.
Please visit Chris McDaniel online and chip in $5, $10, or $20 to help this pro-Second Amendment warrior.
We may not be able to keep up with Bloomberg’s millions, but if gun owners across the country unite behind Chris, he will be able to keep his message on the airwaves to get voters to the polls.
So please go to McDaniel’s website today to join in this important battle.

ANTI-AMERICAN ELITISTS: Ex-Justice John Paul Stevens and Michael Bloomberg Defile the Constitution
“The founders did not establish a right to bear arms... They assumed it already existed [and] said that it ‘shall not be infringed.’ But gun-control advocates frequently want to skip over those words.”
Gun Owners of America joined a chorus of pro-gun organizations in slamming idiotic comments made recently by former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
In a newly released book, Justice Stevens said the Second Amendment should be altered to say that people only have the right to bear arms “when serving in the militia.”GOA blasted the comments, adding that gun owners would welcome the opportunity to demolish Stevens’ arguments in the court of public opinion.
“Bring on the debate,” said GOA Communications Director Erich Pratt in an interview with Newsmax over the weekend. Gun control advocates are always “pushing for draconian gun restrictions” while hiding behind words like “gun safety.”
But to a gun banner, those words are code for, “We just want the military and the police to have guns,” Pratt said. “So let’s get them out of the closet.”
Gun owners need not worry about Stevens’ idea gaining traction. Even an anti-gun liberal, like Professor Alan Dershowitz, opposes Stevens’ proposal.
“You don't amend the Magna Carta,” Dershowitz said. “You don't amend the Bill of Rights. There are certain things that you just leave pristine.”

San Francisco Will Confiscate High-Cap Magazines; Bloomberg and McAuliffe Plan Similar Gun-Grab in Virginia
The radical Leftists running SF appear to have problems with reading comprehension at the third-grade level. After all, the nation's highest law reads, in part, "...the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
But that doesn't stop the would-be tyrants of the Golden State from urinating all over the Constitution:
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an ordinance that places a confiscatory ban on magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammo on Oct. 29.
Those who are in possession of the high-capacity magazines or high-capacity ammunition feeding devices will have 90 days to turn them over to police, sell them out-of-state or render them permanently inoperable. Failure to do so will result in misdemeanor charges.
The NRA rightly protested, noting that these sorts of bans plainly conflict with the Second Amendment. In fact, the Supreme Court has already ruled that firearms and related accessories "in common use" are protected by the Constitution and cannot be banned.
And here's the lesson learned for my friends in Virginia. Michael Bloomberg has spent, by some estimates, over $2 million trying to elect radical leftists in Virginia like Terry McAuliffe. His aim is to extend his draconian gun-ban efforts into the Old Dominion, by hook or by crook.
So if you like your firearms, you won't be able to keep your firearms.
That's why I support Ken Cuccinelli for Governor of Virginia and I urge you to do the same.

Apparently Terry McAuliffe thinks Virginians are too stupid to trust with guns, 32-oz. sodas or salt shakers
I’ve been struggling to find good news in the Virginia Governor’s race and there is finally a bit. Cuccinelli has closed the gap with McAuliffe and is only 4 points behind now, even with the third party candidate at 9%.
Hallelujah.
Ken is a good friend and I’ve been both dearly worried about him and deeply disappointed in a bunch of Republicans who’ve decided to throw him under the bus... But it appears as the reality of a possible Terry McAuliffe victory sets in, they are all returning home.
Ken Cuccinelli is a fine man and will make an outstanding Governor of Virginia. Republicans need to rally to Ken. Many people in the [Establishment] GOP want Cuccinelli to lose so they can blame his loss on social conservatism or populism or anti-corporatism or a host of other things.
Now that the loathsome wannabe dictator Michael Bloomberg has entered the race, sending over a million dollars to McAuliffe, the realities of what would effectively be a Bloomberg governorship in Virginia are hitting home.
Presumably Virginians want to control their own salt intake, buy guns if they want them, and even (*gasp*) drink 32-oz. sodas.
Let’s do what we can to help [Ken Cuccinelli] win. He is within striking distance, there is still time, and he could use any spare cash you might have on hand to close out this last week of the race.
Folks, if you have the wherewithal, please consider helping Cuccinelli turn back the hard left crackpot and Hillary crony McAuliffe. Email your friends in Virginia. Let's send another Ted Cruz or Mike Lee to the U.S. Senate.

YES, VIRGINIA: There Really is a Conspiracy to Take Your Guns, Courtesy of Bloomberg and McAuliffe
Apparently, having billions of dollars in disposable income and being the mayor of America's most populous city (and let's face it, a place with problems of its own) isn't enough to keep billionaire Michael Bloomberg busy. We've often reported on his antics here in the Commonwealth of Virginia (see here, here, and here, for example), and we can thank him for at least one pro-gun law being on Virginia's books.
To no one's surprise, the billionaire buttinksi is back and throwing his considerable fortune behind an attempt to defeat NRA "A"-rated Republican Ken Cuccinelli and to elect NRA "F"-rated Democrat Terry McAuliffe in Virginia's upcoming gubernatorial election. Unfortunately for Bloomberg, while his money can buy a huge amount of negative advertising attacking Cuccinelli, it cannot alter basic facts. Even the Washington Post, normally a far friendlier outlet for McAuliffe and Bloomberg than the NRA, had to call foul at an ad Bloomberg is running that tries to fault Cuccinelli over the so-called gun show loophole. In its fact-check of the ad, the Post awarded Bloomberg's super PAC, "Independence USA," three well-deserved Pinocchios for bending the truth.
The ad claims that the "gun show loophole" means "anyone can buy a guy without a background check," including "the dangerously mentally ill" and "criminals." To underscore this point, it flashes pictures of several high-profile murderers who committed their crimes with guns.
The Washington Post takes issue with the ad on the basis that gun shows are rarely the source of crime guns and that none of the criminals pictured actually obtained their firearms at a gun show without a background check. Indeed, as the Post notes, three of the four pictured killers obtained their firearms through licensed dealers, passing background checks in the process. The fourth killed his own mother and then stole the guns he used from her.
In other words, the so-called "gun show loophole" had nothing to do with the murderers pictured. If anything, they represent the failure of the background check system Bloomberg and his puppets seek to expand.

DON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN, VIRGINIA: Terry McAuliffe and Michael Bloomberg Are Coming For Your Guns
Gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe is one of the top Democrat fundraisers in the country. Like most Democrats, he has virtually no experience running a company, much less an entire state.
As a Clinton apparatchik, insiders have confirmed that he is running for governor to ensure Virginia flips blue in 2016 for Hillary.
In other words, he's not there to serve Virginians. He's there to serve Hillary.
In order to fool the people of the Commonwealth, he decided to copy Barack Obama's 2012 playbook. This involves making up bizarre claims about Ken Cuccinelli's extremist views. Watching a few of the ads inundating the airwaves in the state, MacAuliffe appears to claim that:
• Ken Cuccinelli will ban divorce
• Ken Cuccinelli will ban contraceptives
In other words, Terry MacAuliffe thinks women are stupid.
Of course these claims are outlandish lies. It's the "War on Women" all over again, but the brutal facts on the ground remain: Democrats have launched their own War on Women through Hillary Clinton's outrageous cover-ups and Barack Obama's destruction of jobs for women.
In addition, here's something all residents of Virginia should be aware of: MacAuliffe has received more than $1,000,000 from former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
The Virginia gubernatorial race has gotten so nasty that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has gone so far as to use photos of mass murderers to attack Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli.
Bloomberg — a big proponent of gun control laws — is running ads against Cuccinelli ahead of the Nov. 5 election through his Independence USA PAC... The new ad — a $1.2 million buy airing on television in Northern Virginia — criticizes Cuccinelli’s views on gun control, while showing photos of “the dangerously mentally ill” and “criminals” from some of the country’s most gruesome shootings in recent history.
...“The gun show loophole,” the ad begins. “It means anyone can buy a gun without a background check. The dangerously mentally ill. Criminals. Endangering our families.”
Terry MacAuliffe will be coming for your guns, Virginia.
That's why the crackpot Michael Bloomberg has filled his campaign coffers.
Tell everyone you know. And help support Ken Cuccinelli for Governor.

JUST PERFECT: Bloomberg press conference to promote gun confiscation points hundreds of firearms at reporters
Charles W. Cooke at National Review Online found this headdesk moment in the twitter feed of J. David Goodman, the NYPD police reporter for the New York Times. Goodman covered a joint NYPD press conference featuring Mayor Michael Bloomberg today that saw hundreds of guns pointed directly at the audience...
...While we hope that the NYPD had the good sense to clear each and every firearm on display, what they failed to do is as undeniable as it is unforgivable. They clearly left magazines in, with bolts closed, on numerous firearms pointing at the press...
...At least one of the guns picture above, third up from the bottom on the left, clearly has the bolt-closed and the safety off as it points towards the assembled reporters.
I've concluded there are three levels of liberal idiocy: there's stupid. There's really stupid. And there's Bloomberg stupid.

But... But... But... No One Needs More Than 10 Rounds per Magazine!
Two NYPD Cops Fire 84 Rounds at Murder Suspect
A man who allegedly killed his 13-year-old half-sister survived a fusillade of bullets from New York City police officers early Tuesday, after pointing his pistol at officers.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 2971 Eighth St. in Harlem at 3:27 a.m. Tuesday.
Steven Murray, 28, had allegedly shot his mother Christine Fryar, 44, and her daughter Annie, according to the NYPD. Paramedics arrived to find the daughter dead with a gunshot wound to the head. The mother, who was also shot in the head, was transported to Harlem Hospital, and is listed in critical condition.
Police eventually confronted Murray, who was running through the surrounding neighborhood. The officers pursued Murray on foot and returned fire after he fired one shot.
NYPD Sgt. Alexander Mesa fired 39 shots, and Officer Joseph Robinson got off 45 rounds. Murray was hit 14 times, and refused to drop his weapon, reports the New York Daily News.
Murray has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Bloomberg Weighs in on Respecting the Rights of the People
And Mayor Bloomberg would like to lecture us on respecting people's rights, to wit:
In the history of the United States, no law limiting the rights of a particular class of people has ever stood the test of time. #SCOTUS
— NYC Mayor's Office (@NYCMayorsOffice) June 26, 2013
Let me clarify: Bloomberg urges respect for certain classes of people, unless those people are drinking 20-ounce sodas, consuming salt, eating fast food, taking prescription painkillers, or using styrofoam cups.
In which case New York City's pint-sized, would-be dictator will put his foot down... on you.

NV Gov. Sandoval delivers sharp, openhanded, stinging slap to pint-sized, would-be dictator Michael Bloomberg
Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval just vetoed SB 221, an unconstitutional, New York-style bill that would punish law-abiding citizens for exercising their Second Amendment rights.
Gov. Brian Sandoval vetoed a bill Thursday that would have required a background check almost any time a firearm changes hands in Nevada, carrying through on his earlier promises to kill legislation that attracted interest in the wake of the Connecticut school shooting and a rampage at a Nevada restaurant in 2011.
In his veto message, Sandoval said the universal background checks provision "imposes unreasonable burdens and harsh penalties upon law-abiding Nevadans, while doing little to prevent criminals from unlawfully obtaining firearms."
[It] would have required a background check almost any time a firearm changes hands — regardless of whether the exchange is permanent or a loan — and enacted certain improvements to laws relating to mentally ill people and guns... Sandoval praised the mental health reporting requirements in his veto message, but the hotly contested background checks provisions constituted an "erosion of Nevadans' Second Amendment rights."
...It is a significant defeat for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's gun control advocacy group, Mayor's Against Illegal Guns, which spent hundreds of thousands of dollars working to get the bill passed.
The group bought numerous ads on social media sites, news websites and television, in addition to mailing out materials attacking select lawmakers who voted against the bill during the session. Video ads pressuring Sandoval to sign the bill surfaced immediately following the Assembly nod of approval.
...Notably absent in the veto message was any mention of the call records to this system. In the days leading up to the veto, tens of thousands of calls were being registered daily — with about three callers urging a veto for every one caller supporting the bill.
The NRA notes that it took "an extraordinary grassroots effort, thousands of concerned Nevadans called their representatives and Governor Sandoval's office in Carson City to oppose this legislation and remind those lawmakers that their duty is to protect our rights."
Well done, citizens of Nevada. And well done, Gov. Sandoval. We salute you.

Mayor Bloomberg Celebrates Another Gun Control Success Story: Only 25 Shot, 6 Fatally in 48 Hours in NYC
Bloomberg -- the idiot mayor, not the news site -- is one of the nation's foremost and hypocritical gun control advocates. Hypocritical because, while he endlessly lobbies to take away your right to self-defense, he surrounds himself at all times with a half-dozen armed guards. Because he's more valuable than you or I, presumably.
Now Bloomberg's gun-control nirvana is quickly transforming itself into the south side of Chicago as evidenced by last weekend's spate of violence:
Mayhem in the city: 25 people shot in 48 hours
Three killed Sunday after three were killed Saturday. One of the wounded includes an 11-year-old girl who will never walk again.
Violence surged like the mercury Sunday, with three more fatalities from gun violence — and eight others wounded in shootings — bringing the total number of bullet-riddled in the city to 25 in less than 48 hours...
...Sunday’s first fatality was Ivan Martinez, 21, who was approached around 3:25 a.m. by a 20-year-old gunman and a woman at E. 139th St. near Brook Ave. in the Bronx, police said... The gunman shot Martinez once in the head and ran off with the woman.
...In the second fatal attack, a man in his 40s was gunned down during an argument in East Harlem around 1:20 p.m. The victim, who has not been identified by police, was blasted multiple times in the torso on E. 105th St. near First Ave. Less than four hours later, Damien Powell, 25, was killed after he was shot in the chest outside the Albany Houses in Crown Heights, sources and witnesses said. The victim’s mother collapsed at the scene, where shell casings littered the street, witnesses said.
Three men were wounded in the wild Brooklyn shooting that left terrified bystanders ducking for cover... “I heard maybe 20 shots,” said Guy Pierre Louis, 50, who lives on Lenox Road. “I thought it was like the Fourth of July.”
Cops are now hunting for the alleged gunman, Kevon Brown, 30, who also shot at a pair of officers during the melee, police said. He’s described as 5-foot-10, 185 pounds.
And I love the liberal scranks who blame neighboring cities for their city's homicide rate. "The guns are all coming in from neighboring cities where they're easy to obtain," they'll whine, "that's why the murder rate is so high!"
You mean those same cities that are infinitely safer than Chicago?
Yeah, those.
Man, these people are stupid.

SHHH, NO ONE TELL CUOMO OR BLOOMBERG: Why one police officer carries 145 rounds of ammo with him every day
An expert marksman, Gramins expended 43 rounds (of 47 he routinely carried), before taking down a single assailant. The murderous perp simply would not stop attacking, despite being shot 14 times with .45-cal ammo -- including six hits in supposedly fatal locations.
The most threatening encounter in Gramins’ nearly two-decade career with the Skokie (Ill.) PD north of Chicago came on a lazy August afternoon prior to his promotion to sergeant, on his first day back from a family vacation. [He heard an alert] that a male black driving a two-door white car had robbed a bank at gunpoint in another suburb 11 miles north and had fled... Unknown at the time, the suspect, a 37-year-old alleged Gangster Disciple, had vowed that he would kill a police officer if he got stopped.
...He was scarcely up to highway speed when he spotted a lone male black driver in a white Pontiac Bonneville and pulled alongside him. “He gave me ‘the Look,’ that oh-crap-there’s-the-police look, and I knew he was the guy,” Gramins said... The next thing he knew, bullets were flying. “That was four years ago,” Gramins said. “Yet it could be ten seconds ago.”
With Gramins following close behind, siren blaring and lights flashing, the Bonneville zigzagged through traffic and around corners into a quite pocket of single-family homes a few blocks from the exit. Then a few yards from where a 10-year-old boy was skateboarding on a driveway, the suspect abruptly squealed to a stop.
“He bailed out and ran headlong at me with a 9 mm Smith in his hand while I was still in my car,” Gramins said.
The gunman sank four rounds into the Crown Vic’s hood while Gramins was drawing his .45-cal. Glock 21.
“I didn’t have time to think of backing up or even ramming him,” Gramins said. “I see the gun and I engage.”
Gramins fired back through his windshield, sending a total of 13 rounds tearing through just three holes.
A master firearms instructor and a sniper on his department’s Tactical Intervention Unit, “I was confident at least some of them were hitting him, but he wasn’t even close to slowing down,” Gramins said.
The gunman shot his pistol dry trying to hit Gramins with rounds through his driver-side window, but except for spraying the officer’s face with glass, he narrowly missed and headed back to his car.
Gramins, also empty, escaped his squad — “a coffin,” he calls it — and reloaded on his run to cover behind the passenger-side rear of the Bonneville.
Now the robber, a lanky six-footer, was back in the fight with a .380 Bersa pistol he’d grabbed off his front seat. Rounds flew between the two as the gunman dashed toward the squad car.
Again, Gamins shot dry and reloaded.
“I thought I was hitting him, but with shots going through his clothing it was hard to tell for sure. This much was certain: he kept moving and kept shooting, trying his damnedest to kill me.”
In this free-for-all, the assailant had, in fact, been struck 14 times. Any one of six of these wounds — in the heart, right lung, left lung, liver, diaphragm, and right kidney — could have produced fatal consequences…“in time,” Gramins emphasizes.
...reaching either [of his long guns in the trunk] was impractical. Gramins did manage to get himself to a grassy spot near a tree on the curb side of his vehicle where he could prone out for a solid shooting platform.
The suspect was in the street on the other side of the car. “I could see him by looking under the chassis,” Gramins recalls. “I tried a couple of ricochet rounds that didn’t connect. Then I told myself, ‘Hey, I need to slow down and aim better.’ ”
When the suspect bent down to peer under the car, Gramins carefully established a sight picture, and squeezed off three controlled bursts in rapid succession.
Each round slammed into the suspect’s head — one through each side of his mouth and one through the top of his skull into his brain. At long last the would-be cop killer crumpled to the pavement.
The whole shootout had lasted 56 seconds, Gramins said. The assailant had fired 21 rounds from his two handguns. Inexplicably — but fortunately — he had not attempted to employ an SKS semi-automatic rifle that was lying on his front seat ready to go.
Gramins had discharged 33 rounds. Four remained in his magazine... Two houses and a parked Mercedes in the vicinity had been struck by bullets, but with no casualties...
Before the shooting, Gramins routinely carried 47 rounds of handgun ammo on his person, including two extra magazines for his Glock 21 and 10 rounds loaded in a backup gun attached to his vest, a 9 mm Glock 26.
Now unfailingly he goes to work carrying 145 handgun rounds, all 9 mm. These include three extra 17-round magazines for his primary sidearm (currently a Glock 17), plus two 33-round mags tucked in his vest, as well as the backup gun. Besides all that, he’s got 90 rounds for the AR-15 that now rides in a rack up front.
What the Statist fails to understand is that the law-abiding citizen deserves every bit of protection that a police officer does. Because if the citizen can't be trusted with firearms, why should the government?
