REMINDER FOR THE NEXT ELECTION: The Media Lies, Flashback to 1980 Edition

As we begin to consider possible presidential candidates for 2016, it's worth using the Internet Wayback Machine to venture back to 1980. Then, a truly conservative GOP candidate had battled the establishment to secure the nomination. The media immediately began to tar that candidate as unelectable, stupid, a know-nothing Hollywood actor, too conservative, too extreme, too prone to starting a war.

So let's venture back to March 23, 1980, where New York Times columnist E.J. Dionne demonstrated his uncanny ability to get every single aspect of the story wrong. It's a knack he continues to exercise even today.

The reason I bring this up: imagine that a truly popular conservative candidate like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee or Rand Paul is able to secure the GOP nomination.

Expect the same kind of ridiculous lies and predictions coming from the establishment, be it The New York Times or NBC News.

Last night I caught the movie "Ace in the Hole" with Kirk Douglas. It was an interesting look at lies and how they can create a construct in which we are forced to live.
Jimmy Stewart said in another place, "“When the legend becomes fact, print the legend".
The political conflict before us is the power of lies vs the power of truth. The truth liberates us, lies imprison us and the Press has knowingly and willfully perpetrated a fraud out of all proportion greater than the one told us "you can keep your Doctor".
I don't think it is now "give me liberty or give me death" but rather, We will take our liberty thank you - and you can go to hell.

Doug, you're a smart guy. I like your site and your writing but honestly, what part of NATURAL born Citizen can't you and others understand? The NBC clause is about allegiance to the United States...COMPLETE and SOLE allegiance FROM BIRTH. Cruz does not qualify nor does Rubio or Obama for that matter.
Look don't take my word for it. After reading the Constitution again and then diving into and reading everything I could, it is clear that the weight of real research and the Founders understanding of a natural born citizen was place of birth AND the Citizenship of the parents. Leo Donofrio at naturalborncitizen dot wordpress dot com has one of the best and I believe honest research attempts to enlighten all as to the legal meaning. Also check out Undeadrevolution/Zapem.
Answer me a question...why all the attempts in Congress to change Art 2 Sec 1 Cl5 before the run up of the 2008 elections? Look at Zapem's work for a clear picture. It's clear what has happened to our Republic.

Speak of the devil but EJ has a column out today sating how cool it is to be liberal.

I can't stand the asshole, every time I hear or read him, he's making excuses for REgressives.

But you know what? He gets a platform on Hugh Hewitt's show to tell us all what a great middle of the road liberal he is.
