AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT: IRS equips agents with 12-gauge Remington shotguns

Police Magazine has a report that should be quite comforting to all of us seeing as how the IRS is above reproach and all.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will arm its agents with Remington 870 pump-action shotguns, according to a solicitation request by the agency.

The federal tax collector posted an acquisition notice earlier this month on FedBizOpps.gov. The IRS will close its acquisition request on Wednesday.

The IRS will purchase 60 Remington Model 870 Police, 12-gauge pump-action shotguns for its Conservative Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns will include a 14-inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat ghost-ring rear sight and XS4 contour-bead front sight, Knoxx reduced-recoil adjustable stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, according to the notice.

The shotguns are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty, based on compatibility with existing IRS shotguns, certification by an armorer, combat training and protocol, maintenance and parts.

Wait for it... wait for it...

"What could possibly go wrong?"

Oh, great! Soon there'll be a shortage of shotgun shells!

Considering who advised just such purchases most recently, and the rest of his advice? I would say Uncle Joe couldn't possibly be leading to anything unfortunate!

Where have they be keeping U.J. lately? I'm sure it's... for his own good though. *grins*

"With all due respect, the fact is, we had 75 Conservative organizations complain! Was it because of President obama wanting to bully them into submission or did we suspect they were teaching fellow Americans about the United States Constitution?

What difference at this point does it make if we buy deadly shotguns for our trusted agents? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to lie our way out of this problem or kill the Tea party members.

Doug - that is old news, check the date. I copied that solicitation around the time the Dept of Education asked for their Remington 870s back in 2010 - right before they raided a house in CA.
