Perfect: Obama pulls combat pay for U.S. troops

But he obviously holds the U.S. military in very high esteem.

President Obama’s latest policy outrage makes no attempt to hide his contempt for our military, as he is ordering that our troops serving overseas in war zones overseas are not to receive combat pay unless they are being shot at. A Marine who lives in Florida has just posted a note on Facebook which stated that he received a letter from his PayPal account that he would only be receiving his Hazard pay (Imminent Danger Pay) if he is actually in a hostile area and at risk of being shot at...

...According to Military.com, as of February 1, 2012, this new measure went into effect, and soldiers who are to received the additional $225/mo. combat pay ‘must’ must be in immediate risk of harm. The measure is very specific in its criteria for receiving the additonal pay.

This follows efforts by the president to make veterans pay for their own health insurance -- even those injured in combat -- and his calls last month for raises for millions of federal paper-pushers.

In other words, the president continues to siphon off more and more money from our defense infrastructure -- hitting our warriors first, last and hardest in the process -- to fund his green energy scams and public sector union cronies (which, coincidentally, also contribute heavily to his campaign).

Not to worry. He's softening them up to join his Civilian National Security Force.

I'm mystified why soldiers even bother getting up in the morning over there. They should just pack their bags and ask to be sent home.

When was this law passed, and by whom - or was that one of his 'orders'? I knew whyhe installed that lackey into Panetta into DOD. That's is beyond disgusting!

Here's the thing, if you are virtually anywhere in Afghanistan, you are in imminent danger of taking fire. So is Obama going to give combat back pay to the next soldier killed in a Taliban raid on Kabul? Of is that money already earmarked to fund the next Solyandra.

If a soldier isn't in a combat zone, why should he/she collect combat pay? The Republican Congress rightly dealt with this issue. How you get it as anti Christian or a plot against America is truly bizarre. Obama has ben attacked as anti American since he was nominated, a continuing sign of the undercurrent of racism in this conservative underside of this country.

It has to be that we are all Racist, there is no way it is just the fact that he is the WORST President in history. Quit trying to play the race card, just makes you look stupid.

What a moron you are posting this crap while cutting the actual article to incite the masses into hysteria.... The current rule is $225 for the month or $7.50 a day of per diem. I should know because I actually served. Did you? Stupid people behind their computers.... and you call yourself a journalist.... By the way I do not think that the 3 days I spent in Kuwait should ever count as combat pay now the year in Afghanistan is another matter.

i think that everyone is blowing this out of proportion, money is not being taken away from anyone... they are simply prorating the days that a Marine/Sailor/Solider/Airman spends in a combat zone for example, if a Marine spends 10 days in Afghanistan and leaves on the 11th day for whatever reason he'll get paid $7.50 for the 10 days he was there instead of automatically paying him the $255 for a whole month that he did not spend there. God forbid someone actually gets shot at or blown up they will automatically rate $255.... the way i see it is, it makes sense because if you got LCpl Schmuckatelli who trys to kill himself the first they he gets there, guess what, before he'd automatically get the $255 for just stepping foot there and do you think thats fair? i dont think so. yeah the military doesnt get paid much but the military does have a lot of advantages that civilians dont have, at least we dont have to worry about health care or dental, get to shop at the commissaries and exchanges with no taxes, theres just so many things that are offered to military members and their families but people take it for granted.

whoever wrote this article knows only half the story and twisted it around the other half.... also if this was a so called Marine was actually a Marine who wrote that stuff on his facebook he wouldn't have used "Marine Corps Solider" in the "original" article.
