FINALLY, HILLARY CLINTON FACES PANEL ON BENGHAZI: 5 Key Questions She Must Be Asked

By Helle Dale

On Thursday, Hillary Clinton will make her long-awaited appearance before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

This will be a crucial moment in the Benghazi investigation, and without the testimony of the former Secretary of State, the record will never be complete. We have had eight congressional investigations and one Accountability Review Board (ARB) report, but the secretary was not interviewed by the ARB.

Furthermore, Clinton’s only testimony on this matter, on Jan. 23, 2013, was truncated by her health problems and by the fact that she appeared before two committees on the same day.

Getting to the bottom of the Benghazi affair is important for many reasons: The families of the four men who were killed in Benghazi deserve the truth, as they were promised by the Obama administration over three years ago. Government accountability and personal responsibility matters.

So does making every possible effort to ensure the safety of U.S. diplomats sent overseas to do the nation’s business.

This country has missions, consulates and embassies all over the world, and we need to make sure we know what needs to be done to keep them safe and enable them to do their jobs.

That’s why we need to get to the full truth of what happened before, during and after the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, so we know how we can do to do better.

Some of the important questions that have never been adequately answered,

  1. Why was the construction of the Benghazi consulate allowed to go ahead in the demonstrable absence of adequate security?
  2. Law requires the Secretary of State personally to issue a waiver when certain safety specifications are not present. Did she sign such a waiver?
  3. Why were the repeated and urgent requests by U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens for additional security staff denied by the State Department?
  4. What procedures existed then and exist now to aid diplomatic missions in danger of armed assault?
  5. Who did Clinton communicate with once she became aware that her diplomats were under attack and what was the substance of her conversations and directives?

It is shameful that the Obama administration has not been committed to advance that truth, sometimes even actively attempted to block access to witnesses and documents sought by investigators.

The Benghazi Select Committee’s work has not been easy. Clinton’s testimony will be another tests of the skill and determination of its members.

Queation #7: (And one everyone seems to forget to ask): What was the purpose of the meeting Amb. Stevens had with the Turks on 9/11/12?

This is a giant Kabuki dance. Benghazi functioned as a means to smuggle/launder weapons for transfer to Syrian rebels. Once the GOP leadership bought into this plan they were guilty of all theat resulted.

This is why despite two years almost no progress has been made in obtaining any evidence nor testimony from the scores of individuals involved. Why were military commanders such as Ham purged? The changes of leadership at the CIA? Why has no one asked why the SEALS were using a laser designator if no armed aircraft were over target knowing that utilizing this device would reveal themselves to the jihaddies? Were they on drugs or were they informed help was on the way? The obvious questions should be asked.

Finally has anyone noticed the loss of American aircraft in Afghanistan following the collapse of Benghazi while no aircraft were lost prior to it? Coinsidence. I doubt it.

One doesn't need to be a graduate of the Havard Law School to realize where these shoulder luanched weapons came from. Hence the cover up. The GOP sanctioned the operation and revealing the ugly truth would cause the destruction not only of the odious Obama and his posse of debauched perverts but a corrupt GOP leadership as well.

Didn't the GOP control the House Intelligence Committee? Are we to believe they weren't aware of what was going on in Banghazi? That the Senate minority leader and Congressional majority leader were both in the dark? Clearly if they were Obama is so guilty his impeachment is both long overdue and abvious. But if they were aware they bear the guilt.

Hence Gowdy's pathetic performance. He needs to leave, and I used to admire his abilities. But those talents were never used because Gowdy had more important things to do like watching the 16th re run of dancing with the stars.

So the Kabuki dance continues. I say burn it and all the players down. These are the imbeciles our founders warned us about.
