Items taken from Trayvon Martin's cell phone -- including a text-message discussion of drug use and pictures of a gun and marijuana plants -- are among new details released Thursday by attorneys for the neighborhood watch volunteer accused of killing him...In other messages, text message exchanges appear to be discussing guns.
"U wanna share a .380 w/ (blacked out)," one text message sent from Martin's phone reads.
The text messaging logs are also peppered with references to marijuana use.
"I got weed nd I get money Friday," a message sent from his phone reads.
"I hid m weed," another text sent from Martin's phone reads. "its wrapped."
The text messages include a conversation from November 2011 in which he appears to say his mother has kicked him out of the house after:
"da police caught me outta skool."
"So you just turning into a lil hoodlum," the person with whom he is texting says.
"Naw, I'm a gangsta," the text message read.
And here are the original police photos of Zimmerman taking immediately after the incident.
I ask you to consider whether immediate publication of these photos might have defused much of the controversy surrounding this case.

Where is the pic of Zimmermans broken nose ????
“”“”There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs...I am afraid that there is a certain class of race problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public. “”“ Booker T. Thus Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama, and most democrat Congressional Black Caucus members have fulfilled the dreams of the southern white segregationists. Blacks are encouraged to stay in their own culturally isolated communities.** They are encouraged to believe they are somehow different and cannot mix with outside communities. Their poor education marks them as second class citizens.
Who would have thought that government dependence programs, corrupt Democratic city politicians, and a biased leftist media would accomplish what the white segregationists could not?
For me, it’s one more reason to despise the American left. I hate what they have done to my fellow citizens. I despair when I realize that a typical inner-city resident has no reasonable hope of social mobility, and is stuck in a cycle of government dependence, generation after generation. I shake my head at
The end result is a community culturally isolated from its larger society. It’s members reinforce each others prejudices, and nurture old grievances. They find themselves unsuited for life outside their local community, because they lack the education to fit in anywhere else. This becomes yet more evidence that the outside world has it in for them.
I think these pictures and texts portray a more accurate picture of Trayvon versus what the press releases. They showed what appeared go be an innocent kid in a football uniform when he was a person involved with guns, fighting, in trouble at home and at school. I do not accept that society has failed him because we are all victims of our personal Choices. I think the problem starts at home with love and guidance. Wheres the questions about how the parents failed their.son. I'm absolutely sorry for their loss but sometimes self reflection is hard. Then mix attention getting Al Sharpton who is only interested in turning a situation into a race war which has no relevance and you have A circus. Sharpton has been wrong since Tawana Brawly made false accusations Against police because she.was Afraid of getting in trouble for getting home late. He is a joke and causes more harm then he does good. Jessie Jackson is a hypocrite And a criminal who is only interested if women are involved. The NAACP she be taking a stand against the riots that are occurring in California that are illegal and negatively affect the community. The NAACP should address the culture that Treyvon, his friends and his family lived in where they felt it was appropriateto refer to caucasion people as "creepy ass crackers". Where is Sharpton on that issue? Why Hasn't he spoken out about it? If a Caucasian was referring to African Americans this way he would be up in arms. The verdict was based on facts and evidence. This case has been tried in public with no evidence just opinions. If the texts and pictures from Treyvons phone were released im sure the public opinion would have been much different. It a shame a life was lost and i feel bad for the parents, but the decision was based on facts by jurors.
Didnt Obama make a statement something to the effect...If I had a son he'd be Treyvon? Perfectly matched!!
Those that don't want to change will always be in their same hole!!!Criminals will always be in their same hole!!Criminals choose to be criminals, punks choose to be punks and jerks will always be jerks!!! No one makes their choice!!
When their kids commit a crime they say they were good kids!!! Lies in court!!!!!
I have to wonder what the definition of a good kid in the mind of his mother, dad and all the politicians. I know some of the politicians have college degrees. I have to wonder how they define "good kid" and "punk-criminal".
I at the age of 75 have never did drugs, not robbed others for a living, I wonder when they will appoint me as a saint.

When black people state the only reason blacks get into trouble is because of racial discrimination, then they do themslves a large disservice, because they fail to realize that some people get into trouble regardless of race.
The fact is, he didn't do anything wrong! Zimmerman should have stayed in his car and let the police handle things! !! Instead he followed a kid whom he shot and killed! !
Honesty the only image that I find surprizing is the gun... the weed plant and pictures of trayvon smoking weed not soo much. This however still doesn't change my opionon at all, apparently trayvon was unarmed that night and was pursuited by a man who took the law into a his own hands... pictures of the kid smokin weed as evidence against him pls. Tons of ppl from all walks of life smoke weed every day wiether u argee with it or not doesn't make them bad ppl and it certainly doesn't mean someone should kill them
No. He was beating Zimmerman before he was shot. Do you see the pictures? Bloodied up = not completely innocent. Neither person did everything right, or no one would have died.
By "took the law into his own hands" you must mean either A: getting out of his car and keeping tabs a hooded figure who was suspiciously walking shadily behind peoples homes, in a neighborhood that had recently been suffering break ins, or B: shooting a person who broke his nose with a swing of his fist and was savagely pummeling his head into the concrete nonstop after he was harmlessly walking back to his car.
I'll respond to B first since it's the simplest answer: once he reached his car and was no threat to Trayvon, he was in his full legal right to use lethal force in response to Trayvon's assault, as the forensic evidence showed not only that Trayvon did in fact attack him first at his car (breaking his nose and drawing blood) but that Zimmerman didn't even land a solid return punch on the boy at any time. That kid had him beat down.
And, in response to A: Keeping the police on the phone as you keep tabs on a possible criminal is not "taking the law into ones own hands". He allegedly never confronted the boy, only watched him. He had no idea who he was, or what his plans were, but he knew that the boy(just as easily mistaken for a MAN during the raining night while wearing a hoodie) was lurking among peoples back yards where he ought never had been, and he claims that it looked like the boy was looking into peoples windows which may or may not be an accurate sight but that is still what he "thought" he saw. He then called the cops who claimed that they were all on dispatch and would be quite late. Now, as innocent of breaking into these houses as Trayvon was(even though he did many other illegal things) keep in mind that Zimmerman couldn't know any of that. To his knowledge Trayvon could had very well been attempting to break into someones home. What if he had hurt someone? It is not uncommon for a simple burglary to turn into a sexual assault should a woman be home alone, a situation that took place to a family member of mine. So Zimmerman then kept a watch on him until the cops arrived, never once confronting him, but only wanting to ensure that nothing bad was going to happen. And, if that boy was truly innocent and had no plans of doing anything he could had stayed inside his home and called the cops himself rather than walking back out of his home(confirmed by his girlfriend that he did safely get home and then walked back out to confront Zimmerman) and fighting Zimmerman. Id also like to add that when he did confront Zimmerman, Zimmerman confirmed his identity as the neighborhood watch and told him that he called the police on him. At that point it was clear that Zimmerman was no threat, and Trayvon could had told him that he was doing nothing wrong and that his suspicions were unwarranted. Instead, he responded in savage violence that was absolutely uncalled for because Zimmerman did no such violence to him, he was only suspicious of him but not violent. Trayvon was shot, NOT because some crazy man was overly suspicious and decided that he needed to clean a gangster off the streets. Trayvon was shot because he ATTACKED Zimmerman. Zimmerman did not shoot him out of suspicion, he shot him because his life was literally in danger because of the boys reaction. And, Zimmerman is not responsible for that boys violent reaction because he neither gave that boy reason to feel threatened after he identified himself, and did not act violently towards Trayvon. The violence BEGUN with Trayvon, and Zimmerman simply defended himself from it.
Wow. What a true and powerful post. Thanks. Im a white female and that answered a lot of questions for me.
