IT BEGINS: New York Gun Confiscation Letters Arrive

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution reads as follows:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Robert Farago, writing at The Truth About Guns:

[New York] requires people to register, sell or transfer (out of state) “assault rifles” and “high capacity” magazines. Many Empire State gun and standard capacity ammunition magazine owners have complied. Many have not. So, at some point, the State’s gonna go get ‘em. People on both sides of the law enforcement divide will die and the s will hit the fan. Meanwhile, there it is: the reason why expanded background checks, indeed all background checks and any type of registration, set the stage for confiscation. And tyranny.

The Constitution is written in what we normal folks call "Plain English".

It was designed to be read by all citizens at the time of the founding, so that they could read, understand, and ratify it. The Constitution -- no matter what temporary politicians, activist judges and other leftists may tell you -- is the highest law in the land.

The Constitution protects your rights, no matter what the Statists, the Marxists and the Progressives tell you.

Molon Labe.

Here in the Socialist Paradise of Soviet Canuckistan (aka Canada) we are allowed unlimited magazine capacity for any rimfire firearm! Our pistols are limited to 10 rounds and our centre-fire rifles are "technically" limited to 5 rounds...however, if a magazine made for a different calibre "happens" to hold more (.50 Beowulf) but fits your rifle, you can load it to capacity of your calibre (which gets you significantly more 5.56 for your AR), or if there is a pistol magazine which fits, you can load it to 10...hence the preponderance of LAR 10 round pistol magazines with the coupler in Canada (20 "legal" rounds per magazine).

Who'd of thought that Canada's regulations would be more lax than somewhere in the US?

Oh...and the Canadian Federal Government just trashed our firearm registry for long guns...yes, they actually went and got rid of the requirement to register long guns...(we've had to register pistols since well before WWII).

Unreal the crap going on in NYC...unfortunately, we all know that people will die over this silliness.

Yes, because taking guns away from the Law Abiding will make crime disappear in the City.

I expect the gangstas to turn in their weapons anytime now.

People voted for DiBlasio. They get what they deserve.

NYC's regulation is not the law of the land. If they attempt to confiscate someone's gun then that citizen has the right to protect themselves from them. This is quite simply theft.

Just yesterday I read an article on the Huffington Post by a Mr Coates in which he ridiculed the idea that gun registration was a first step toward confiscation. I was about to say that it is rare that someone is proven wrong so quickly. But I'm sure if confronted with this, he wouldn't say that he was proven wrong. He would reply that, yes, a few limited types of guns were being banned, but it's ridiculous to say that this will lead to a general confiscation of all firearms.

Can the name of an official - an actual human being who can be "held accountable" for this - crime be found anywhere in this despicable edict?
