I know term limits is a hot button issue among the right, but I feel it's anti-liberty.

We need a way to stop entrenchment of public officials; something that limits the power of incumbency and takes the government's boot off of the necks of challengers, not a way to stop people from electing whoever they want.

Anti-liberty? Do you think FDR getting elected 4 times was healthy? Do you think reelecting incumbents at a 90+ clip is healthy? Do you think lifetime appointments for SC Justices, who can, BY 1 VOTE NOW, completely overturn our civil society, who can IGNORE the Constitution with absolutely no recourse?

I don't believe our Framers ever could have thought that creatures like a Joe Biden, who went right from college into government, would exist. He has absolutely NO REAL WORLD experience and yet knows what kind of fucking light bulb I must buy or how much gas my car should get.

But I guess that's OK with you?

BTW Doug, I bet every one of the items you listed are going to be part of the offense Mark believes we should take.

Term limits have proven vital.

If not, we really would have Presidential dynasties (not that a couple of families haven't tried to create them anyway...).

Term limits for Congress and the Federal judiciary. The Federal government was never intended to be a life's pursuit spanning 40 or more years.

PS I don't know who came up with the idea, but term limits for the bureaucracy isn't a bad idea, either.

Mark Levin is probably going to have many of those or in slightly different forms. He already announced term limits and sunset like law.

I think Term Limits and Sunset law are two most important then you can go back for the other ones once you got jerks out of office and the pork laws from 100 years ago go away.

The other things are to numerous to mention but here's a few.

Congressmen ability to buy new stock in companies while in office.
